This morning I went through Quidco and ordered the AOL package with a free laptop from CPW.
I selected the Acer Aspire (free) and completed the form with my debit card details for the delivery charge (£14.99)
This afternoon I receive a confirmation email off them - they have upgraded the laptop to a Fujitsu at an additional cost of £29.99. Total of £44.98 has been charged to my card.
I phoned up AOL - there is nothing they can do, so cancelled the order. Here's the part that really pi$ed me off;
I asked about the refund and was told I need to speak to CPW about this - they transferred me through. Bearing in mind I have now ben on the phone for 27 minutes to them. I spoke to someone from CPW and she told me that the refund will be by cheque. Great. ............
...........and it will take upto 28 days!
IMO this is nuts. They have the ability to refund my card, so why do they drag this out?
Needless to say I am shopping around for another ISP - might go with O2.
I'll never use AOL.
