Apple Higher Education Discount

Just a question to see if anyone's had any problems receiving their goods at lower prices or taking advantage of the iPod £130 rebate?

I'm hoping to buy a MacBook Pro through this site:
http://store.apple.com/uk_edu_5000668

Now this isn't the general Education discount store seen here:
http://store.apple.com/uk-edu

The first link provides cheaper prices still and is tied to the Edinburgh University (where I've been accepted into for studying later this year). It appears to me that this site should only be accessible from on campus but obviously I'm not there yet and doing this from home.

Does anyone have any first hand experience of placing an order through the uni specific website whilst off campus? More specifically, did you take advantage of, and successfully reclaim money towards an iPod? How do they get you to prove that you have been accepted into/are a member of your uni?

Thanks in advance,
Steve

I ordered my laptop from the HE store for NUS with the Higher Education discount, and a week after it arrived the ipod rebate deal started - I phoned up the Apple education store and they were so helpful and said that they would apply the rebate to the account if I purchased an ipod touch even though I wasn't really eligible - I was so impresses with their customer services.
I would have no worries about the rebate if you purchase through the Edinburgh Uni site during the offer, but if you have any queries the best recommendation I can give is to phone them up and make the order that way and just confirm the discount and rebate when making the order.

If they check you're out of luck because it's only valid once you're there, if you want to keep it legit then ring them or go instore with your UCAS letter.

They say you qualify if:

"8. Qualifying Education Customer for the purposes of this Promotion is defined as an individual person who is either:

* a full-time or part-time student, aged 18 or over, who is studying at or is accepted into an education establishment; or
* a teacher, lecturer, or executive working at an education establishment who purchases the Qualifying Products for their personal, education and/or research use."

So to me, it looks like I am eligible for the HE discount, but it's just this specific site I'm worried about.
EDIT: I may have misunderstood what you meant there, sorry. I don't think there should be a problem because as you said you can phone them whilst off campus and do it that way, but I don't really want to leave things to chance when we're dealing with expensive goods.

Any time I've ever had to deal with Apple customer services I've always been very impressed with them. By the sounds of things it should be OK, I might phone them in the morning but you know how things go, I'm very excited an impatient tonight

I always buy Apple stuff via the Education site.
I do qualify (just) and have never had any problems. On the contrary in fact.

Until recently I qualified for 35% off education prices too but this has been suspended indefinitely now.
