  How should I prepare for my appointment?
  First, back up your data. We’re happy to show you how to back up, but remember we’re not responsible for data loss. If you prefer, we can back up your Mac to your external hard drive for a fee. Then gather the equipment you need for your session. Make careful notes of the issues you’re experiencing and jot down a list of questions. If you’ve already spoken to an AppleCare agent or another Genius, bring the case number or repair/dispatch numbers with you.
  
  What equipment should I bring with me?
  For issues with a Mac, bring the computer, power adapter, battery and any accessories (a wireless mouse, for example) that might be involved. For an issue with an iPod or iPhone, bring the headphones, cable, dock and power adapter as well as your iPod or iPhone.

  Is your phone still under warrenty?
  Only asking as my husbands iphone is playing up really bad. It keeps goining off even though there is plenty of charge in it. I phoned my service provider (3) and they put me through to Apple, who told me as the phone is out of warrenty, it's going to cost us £126 to repair!

  A pal of mine was having some issues with an out of warranty iPhone, he took it in for a battery replacement costing £55 and he got a swapout...problems solved.. Worth checking to see if you can do the same
