  Patience. The ATV2 can run XBMC, but it can only output 720p, so it's essentially obsolete. The ATV3 should be up to the task, and it should be able to run XBMC soon. Unless you're in a serious rush, I wouldn't bother.

  the ATV3 is also a dual core a5 with one core being turned off, might be possible to turn that core back on???

  Maybe but I'm not sure what the gains will be for us average users, the single core will be more than enough for the current Eden builds :|
  
  If only someone could hack a USB master on to the PCB :(

  What sources of video (apart from iTunes store and perhaps your MKV collection) give you 1080p video on the ATV?
