  i wouldnt pay any more then £90 for a second generation one and jailbreaking is pretty easy

  Follow the many guides on youtube, user : xctech, or xctechs is it? His are the most simple to follow. And you need a micro USB cable rather than mini, some phones come with this lead, if not then a couple of quid on ebay.
  
  Best thing is that it still functions the same as before only now with more options, I stream via a NAS and it works perfect

  What is apple tv? What does it do.
  
  I have a virgin media hd box but I'd like to get rid of it to be honest. Is this a replacement.
  
  Can I get all the freeview channels on this thing. I don't have an arial fitted on my house.

  I don't think ice films works now, although I don't use it to be honest so I am not sure, I did read that it was down.
  
  I use iplayer quite a bit, Nat Geo is on there and some others. And of course Netflix, I haven't worked out how to get the US netflix on the Apple yet, only on the PS3 so far. The netflix menu on the Apple TV I find easier to Nav than the PS3.
  
  Remote is cool also. Also they are handy cause you can stick then behind the TV out of sight due to it's size.

  The Roku tv is out soon in the UK, although how good the channel line up will be I am not sure. I think within a year or two we can have better broadband speeds and then online streaming as the way forward rather than Cable/Sky packages. I thought about doing in the Sky also and going net based, all depends how good the line up will be on the Roku though. Would maybe miss Sky sports, but I am sure there are way's round it. Times are changing :) Netflix and how well it can stream HD is how it should be in this day and age

  It's fine dude, works on the Apple TV rather than through XBMC. I mean even the non broken one plays netflix, and netflix remains unchanged when it is broken.

  Sorry, yeah I forgot that when it installs xbmc it's an add-in, rather than installing xbmclive.

  It really is, non jailbroken I wouldn't have them, but jailbroken it is an excellent bit of kit. I am a fan now I must say. I have noticed that the kids watch mostly iplayer and cbeebies through it, even though they have loads of films they still prefer cbeebies. And with a NAS of course streaming with no more damaged DVD's :) They are limited to 720p which for some is a down point. Netflix menu's on it are a good job for the kid's, I have came prepared here :

  You can rent movies, use youtube and also netflix when not jailbroken. I have jailbroken both mine since brand new, it is good that is still functions as before but now with more options. You can still rent a movie through apple with no problems

  Sounds similar to ipad, dns settings go on the same line with a comma after the first dns setting followed by a space
  208.108.23.22, 208.108.23.23 (dns settings may be wrong, taking from memory) and log out of netflix then back in again.
