Yes, and I've also put a job advert in the local paper
"Wanted, skilled person to charge my electronic devices. Devices to be charged include, phone, camera, laptop, small iPad, big iPad, battery backup device, watch, ps3 joystick, mp3 player, electric toothbrush, etc etc. Must be able to work long hours and at short notice. This is a demanding job and not for the faint at heart"

1st gen isn't for me. It's a promising start, however, but it doesn't do enough to warrant me starting to wear a watch again - a practice that has averted me for the best part of two decades.

Wake me up when it's smaller, faster, better and has a longer battery life. I guess 2018/2019 I will be tempted by it's offerings, but until then it's a no from me.

Mine has the same estimated time! 42mm sports watch - using it for running ( got rid of my garmin) More functions on this and the HR monitor data in the health kit app could be useful!

Same. You know in the next couple of years they'll release one that has loads more features and fixes the flaws all the 1st gen beta testers find ruling the current gen obsolete. I think this watch idea will take off though especially seeing as voice technology is really good nowadays.

I quite like the idea of being an early adopter, yes there is going to be some flaws, yes the future generations will be betterand more refined but i'm excited to be part of the process so to speak!

Completely agree, there will be a significantly better, improved and feature-rich iteration next year (most likely). However, some of us don't see it as having to wait for that. Why not adopt early, enjoy the new tech now not later then simply upgrade to the new version while reselling the old one. Apple products typically uphold decent value and the depreciation lost over the year, when split into a per monthly cost is minor. A lot of people do this with iPhones and iPads. iPhone 5 to 5s upgrade cost £150 difference. Over a year, that's tenner a month. Peanuts. I expect the same with Apple Watch.

How long to the first violent mugging for a fancy apple watch ?

Never. Stolen Apple Watches can not be reused as they can identify the user. The same reason why mobile phone thefts have decreased since TouchID.

Probably not long, despite the anti-theft measures built into the device. Thieves are stupid and will steal stuff purely for the sake of it.

So one watch has arrived. The box is huge. Apple deciding not to be so environmentally friendly with their boxes!
