I will sum it up in a simple formula for you:

(Generic apple product + higher number - any significant improvements) x the technologically inept = Massive profit

all that will be announced wil be lion osx, ios 5 and the apple cloud.

Given iOS 5 will be announced, there will bound to be some mention of the next iPhone and also backward capability with existing handsets.

You'd have thought more companies would have tried it - they must obviously not like money.

Im don't think we will see a new iphone announced at this years WWDC, all rumours are pointing at a September release, most likely when the new ipod touches etc are announced.

I tried out a Samsung GS II, but compared to my iphone 4 it felt really cheap, plastic, not a patch on the build quality of an iphone 4.
The screen is incredible though, but again, for web browsing, i felt that the text on the iphone was much more crisper and easier to read.

But surely:

(Sleep saved knowing your iPhone 5's data will be backed up online x Fence sitters who can't decide whether they want an iDevice) > Sum of people calling Apple users 'Sheep'

So, Counting Sheep over fence = Sleep

Ahahahahahahahahahaha. Another silly Apple sheep, you know a mouse is much quicker and easier than a touch screen and you look like a moron poking your monitor.

They're both good for completely different purposes. Eg a drawing tablet is far better a mouse for design, for net browsing a mouse is better.

Yes, but we're not on about a drawing tablet, an actual touch screen monitor is a useless gimmick. Unless used on it's own somewhere for information or say in a kitchenB or whatever, but at your desk it's a waste of time and money.

Yeh you need to take a look at the patents, if I'm right it will slide down like a table, giving you a lot more control. Don't knock what you don't know. People pay money for apple because they lead the way, they work, the hold their value, and as a designer, I plain and simply like the bet tools.

I'm currently working to implement a solution at my company that will computerize and semi-automate what's currently a pen & paper process. We're going to use a large touchscreen monitor because it works out at approximately £4000 a year cheaper than a mouse and keyboard.

Wait Apple lead the way? They sell out of date tech in a shiny case. You're not about to claim the iPad was the first ever tablet are you? They work because they are so locked down you can't do anything with them.

You're so anti-Apple that you can't fairly assess them. They may not be the first with technology, but they are often the first to make them appeal to the mass market.

And please don't make the mistake of thinking 'mass market' is just existing Apple users or 'sheep'.

The iPod was not the first MP3 player, but it was the first one that looked cool and had 'ease of use' (and that's coming from someone who had a Creative Jukebox).

The iPhone wasn't the first phone or the first touchscreen. But it was groundbreaking in terms of design and ease of use.

And we know that tablets have been around for ages, but they've often been cumbersome. The iPad changed that.

But on the upside, if you get one it'll be the first attractive thing you'll have poked.

Like I said, it was an example. My point was that they're both good for completely different purposes. Just because the only application you can think of is putting one on your fridge, doesn't mean that someone else can't find a very practical application for a touchscreen.

How about an information point? For aiding communication with people with aspergers? People that have lost fingers and can't use a mouse?

Just a few off the top of my head.

Unfortunately dcx has a problem with Apple.

And women. ;)

For some reason any topic that ever has anything to do with Apple just brings out all the little pathetic people. The anti-Apple brigade are quite amazing, they're almost more obsessive about slagging Apple off than fanboys are about praising them.

Seriously, get a life.

mods please ban dcx, he doesnt know what time of day is nevermind anything about tech.

I do not see anything wrong with the criticism so far - Apple introduce a "new" product with features which are already readily available to anyone with half a brain > they increment their version number and release it to the hipster horde.

Touch screen is a gimmick, the only way it would work IMO is if you were using it as a table surface and even it could be rather uncomfortable.

I wonder how long it will take for someone to hack Apple when they introduce their "new" cloud based solution. It's about time these hipsters get a smash of reality, the porn anti virus software was pretty great.

IPad 3 promises big changes, they have even simplified their user interface to satisfy the urges of their flock..

I remember spending the best part of an hour explaining to an Apple fanatic why my laptop boots faster than their MB laptop despite costing half the price.

The only product that had honestly attracted me which Apple produced was their MB air range, although now that Asus are planning to launch their more attractive and much more powerful alternative I no longer even have that silly temptation!

Are you creating a new till system for a store? I fail to see how you could possibly save £4000 a year by opting for touch screens over mouse and keyboard, especially considering the increased cost of touch screens over standard displays.

Also, what is the significant gain from using a touch screen at home over a mouse and keyboard aside from screwing your eyesight by having to be so close to it constantly?

So you are suggesting that Apple designs products like the iPad 3 to appeal to current Apple users?

Is that what you mean by 'their flock'?
