I know this was slightly posted before, but that post was over 2weeks ago & didn't have a lot of information.

London 2012 Games Maker applications open at 8am tomorrow

That’s right, the wait is finally over. At 8am tomorrow, 15 September, applications for volunteer roles will open to the general public.

I’ve witnessed first-hand the incredible impact that volunteers have on a Games. They are the face of the Games and without them the Games simply would not happen. That's why we're calling them Games Makers. From stewards to radio operators to athlete escorts, our volunteers will play an integral role in the largest event ever staged in the UK.

You’ve registered your interest in volunteering – from tomorrow you'll actually be able to apply and start your journey to becoming a Games Maker. (Remember, even if you’re registered, you still have to apply online.)

If you’re still not sure whether volunteering at London 2012 is for you, don’t worry. Applications will be open until midnight on 27 October 2010, so you’ve still got plenty of time to decide. Make sure you find out all there is to know about being a volunteer on the London 2012 website.

Once you’re ready to apply, go to london2012.com/volunteering and click on the ‘Apply’ button. The online application will take around 30 minutes to complete, but you can save at any point in the process and return to it later.

It will be the London 2012 Games Makers who help turn a good Games into a truly great Games. I hope you will be there with us, making this the greatest show on Earth.

Ah yes.... the Olympics. Volunteer for unpaid slave labour with tickets unavailable due to corporate invite only and ridiculous pricing and a tax bill forever more.

Some things apparently need to be prioritised and cut to the bone to save money. This should be top of the list.
