on the website it says this: You also need to be over 18 and a UK resident with a regular income.
yes i have an income but i dont work anymore. will they see through the credit report agency if im on the payroll/whether im currently working/how much im getting or something?

They won't know from your credit report.

Your earnings won't be recorded.
#2
They could check somehow though I think, otherwise everyone could just say they earn 100K.

Open a student account. You get an overdraft and credit card.
#4
they cant tell, only from your old bank rating credit level.

ok so i basically could tell them that im working for X company and earning for example £1500 per month. right?

You can do that, but you would be breaking the law.

The lenders may check the details that you give, this rarely happens, but it may become normal practice int the current economic climate.

Nice to see that credit card companies are still lending money responsibly!

It's not like there is a global credit problem....................................

have you seen american express credit card is %5 cashback for 3 months then 1 and half % after. plus £30 approx if you apply thru quidco.

might be worth checking out.

yeah bu the AMEX is not accepted by some shops cos of the higher charge(to retailers) and also for warranty purpuses. like with if you payed with amex and your item had gone wrong AMEX will fight until the end to get a refund for you or something..
and i also forgot to mention the difficulty to pass the credit check for AMEX...
whereas the halifax is just a maestro!

I personaly wouldn't have gone near the halifax card at the moment. With halifax's future in the balance at the moment it is a bit risky to enter into any sort of agreement with them imo.
#14
Halifax future not really in the balance, about to become UKs biggest bank - besides on a credit card you owe them not vice versa so it wouldnt matter?

is halifax and thr royal bank of scotland the same company now?
#16
nah. Halifax and bank of Scotland joined about 6 years back. They are in the process of being taken over by lloyds

There are two banks that sound similar.

1. Bank of Scotland
2. Royal bank of Scotland.

The Bank of Scotland is joined with Halifax and is called HBOS.

Possibly they mean that say you owed £1000 and the bank has a problem they can demand the whole £1000 back right away/

Anyway yeah the credit system is a joke, I had bad credit at 18 for not paying back some bills but this was 8 years ago and since then pay bills back and have 0 defaults but cant get credit or a current account anywhere, or a credit card.

Its not even that I want credit as such its just I want the option and maybe have a credit card for now and again but cant get one.

How long ago did you pay the last installlment of the money back, and how did the companies get you to pay back i.e defaults, courts, bailiffs etc?

I took a while but its been at least 5 years and none took me to court as far as I know it was just constant letters threatening me but I didnt have money to pay them back at first but paid them back when I worked full time, did do a experian and equifax report and shows no defaults or late payments to current ones and no outstanding ones
