Just blown a small fortune on a pair, and now wondering if I will be disappointed!

At that price i'd doubt their authenticity, New Rock vet their retailers carefully they do shop inspections and if they dont like the look of you then thats it! Mine where £94 reduced from £135. You'd be doing well to get any for less than £80, do you have a link for the seller you used id be interested to see what they do.

(the ones pictured are not the same as mine but very similar, the logo doesnt seem kosher on those either ive only ever seen the circular one)

And you expect anyone to believe you got brand new, genuine New Rocks for £25, when you have absolutely no proof?

Finaly people that obviously know their stuff! Will I be dissapointed once ive had them a few weeks? and is the logo on those in the pic genuine? Mine are near enough identical but have the round globe logo on them like this http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s308/harlzter/f8072dea.jpg

Ive never seen it like the above in post 2!

You won't be disappointed! As long as you don't trash them they will last you a very long time, and they are incredibly comfy, especially the calf/knee length versions as they hold onto your feet very snugly! The only thing I would suggest is that if you haven't owned a pair before then you might need to wear a couple of pairs of socks for the first few weeks, just until the leather softens up!

With regards the badge, I can't say I've seen them with the logo in post 2 either, the round badge with the globe in the middle is definitely legit though!

Who would even bother ripping off these boots, I wouldn't say there was a vast market for these non functional boots. It's a fashion boot (looks only) for people who want to look like marlin mason

Well then that's where you're wrong. You're assuming that everyone who wears New Rock's is a 'goth' stereotype. Also, Marilyn Manson doesn't wear New Rock boots... :whistling:

Yip, just another pointless stereotype. Real goth doesn't even exist anymore.

Haven't seen any other person wearing these 'type' of boots except wickers and people wearing black clothing thinking the world is against them / emotional kids/ adults stuck in a kid like mind :whistling:

functional in what way, have they got steel toe caps? can you run in them? have they got non slip oil resistant bases? are they made of Gortex or similar to keep your feet dry, do they have a Thinsulate lining to keep your feet warm? can you drive in them (yeah right, you need to actually feel the pedal)?

Functional as footwear, they are comfortable, hard wearing, offer good ankle support (and as someone who suffers a fair amount of ankle pain its needed, ive always been a DM fan so boots are my preffered footwear). And yes they are warm they keep your feet dry, can I run in them? No. Would I want to run? NO. Why would I need to run anyway? Can I drive in them? NO. Can I drive in trainers or any other footwear? NO because I dont drive full stop, lack of licence puts paid to that before it gets to that point.

Value for money? Outstanding whilst a pair of decentish trainers/shoes sets you back maybe fifty quid a pair and lasts you posssibly six months These are usually in the region of £100-£130 (some go up to £200+) and last you six years plus. There are people with pairs ten years old plus that are still going strong.

What do you wear?
Trainers? just as many negatives could be said about those, do they offer ankle support? have they got non slip oil resistant bases? are they made of Gortex or similar to keep your feet dry, do they have a Thinsulate lining to keep your feet warm? How much running do you actually do on them? Do they protect your ankles and/or lower legs? I would rather have something drop on my toe in these than trainers. Do you like to be one of the in crowd with matching sneaks to hundreds of other people, a sheep to fashion?

Lol. Calm down. You asked a question, what you did not include in your OP was your life story of ankle pain and non driving background.

This thread should have been titled " I just spunked lots of money on these boots, please tell me i did the right thing"

Read it in context, lumoruk was arguing what benefits do they have over other footwear saying they wasnt practical and served no purpose as footwear, I was simply pointing out that the same can be said for other footwears they all have good and bad points. What suits ones purpose may not suit anothers.

you judge when you don't know sh!t, yeah the above where theses boots but so does a large number of other people, cause if they didn't companies such as the very successful newrock would not exist. you say you haven't seen other people wearing these boots maybe it cause you don't get out enough people have the right to where what they want it doesn't give you the right to stereotype people
