Yes there are many fools on ebay. I have sold numerous items for more than I paid for them new, some over a year after purchase. More than scammers I think sometimes people get caught up in the auction and think if someone else is willing to bid that high it must be a bargain. People also don't check prices of things properly online and will work of their own Knowledge or lack thereof when deciding what to bid. For instance £500 is cheaper than 24 months at £35 contract so is a good deal for an Iphone. Or RRP for this amp three years ago was £800 so it MUST be worth at least half that.

Some people are not internet savvy and wont do price comparison etc, so if they know that something sells for X amount on amazon then they assume they are getting a bargain, when it can be bought for half the price on another website

People also pay for discount codes that you can get for free on here or various other websites! All it would take is a search on google and they would be saving themselves £

Its an auction like any other, I have seen bizarre bidding behaviour in auction houses, from cars to houses and antiques, their brains go out the window, and they bid like crazy. Once I saw some numbnuts bidding against himself at a car auction, he could have saved himself 2K if he hadn't.
