When isn't it a holiday for them? Hard to notice these days when they're on holiday on strike or working.

I think he is saying that they got Saturday as well as today.

Should be only a 'bank' holiday in my opinion

Today is a bank holiday. Classed as Boxing Day as traditionally Boxing Day is the first weekday after Christmas.

Typical response from one.

Only a complete idiot would think we had a decent postal service. From two deliveries a day to random deliveries a week. It's a shambles and a disgrace.

So as I mentioned earlier, hard to tell when they are actually in work.

I actually think we have a decent postal service. It isn't perfect, but I don't have any major complaints.

They may have had to take a days holiday for the Saturday or not been paid. I cannot see Royal Mail giving them anything for free.

As for people that are satisfied with the current postal service, well even the posties are not happy with it. You are really in the minority.

I thought Boxing Day was always the 26th December.

It is, but if it lands on a weekend then the next weekday(Monday) is classed as a bank holiday also.

It is, but when the Bank Holiday of Boxing Day falls on a weekend the holiday is always moved to the nearest working day (not always a Monday).

When Christmas Day is on a Saturday then you end up with Monday (xmas day) and Tuesday (boxing day) being bank holidays.

We had an excellent service including the Sunday before xmas (yes they worked that day). We always get one delivery a day. Where have they been dong 2 per day recently?. This stopped ages ago in our area.

Read replies...it is "classed", not actual Boxing Day.

They take on a lot of temp staff for xmas.

I've seen the swift decline of what used to be a great service.
