Yes you will unless you are off for 3 days or more and send in a sick note.

That depends on who you work for

You do look poorly though ;(

i dont get paid anything for odd days off, if your off over 7days you should get ssp, depending on your company you might get paid, my partner gets full pay when off sick.

True, usually the smaller the company the more lenient they are, they tend to use their discretion.

Also (i'm not sure if this happens anymore) if you are off either the day before or the day after a Bank Holiday you lose the pay for that too.

Depends on how strict they are - do you have a contract? I don't but my work are great and I get paid if I'm off one day or 10 days. My OH however has a contract which states he can only be off 15 days over the year paid, anything more than that is unpaid.

some companies pay 90 days sick a year.. ( the OH's ) and there are people there who think that's it's an entitlement and take the full 90 !!!

i dont. but you are allowed to use up one of your holiday days so you dont lose money

you'll be fine if you work for the civil service........

If your on a salary you'll probably get paid, If your on a hourly wage you'll most likely not get paid

You won't lose any money, just won't make any either.

Is that a hint of bitterness there:p

Taking a sickie when you're actually sick is a waste of a day off. Wait till you're feeling a bit better.

i dont get paid if i'm ill.

Depends on your employer, and your contract. Perhaps not, but SSP will be paid if you are off for more than three consecutive days. Worth knowing, as if you are just off for three, you get nothing, but the fourth day kicks in the pay... At least that's how it was when I worked. And it's pitiful, something like a tenner a day iirc. This is why my husband drags himself to work even when he's really truly ill. And half his men use up their holiday pay when they are actually ill.

no, just reality. Three of my mates work for the DSS (job centres) and they even get allocated 8 sick days per year which they can take as 'duvet days'! :p
