It's working fine but is getting very very annoying, it is a "premium" branded mouse so i wouldn't expect this.
Would it be covered by warranty?

Probably not. Fortunately, it'll be covered for the other fault it has. You know. The one where the light switches off for about ten seconds randomly whilst you're using it, which it does both on your laptop as well as your Windows XP-based desktop.

You could argue that it fails the SoGA on the grounds that it isn't of satisfactory quality.

I would but it's a MS Wireless Lasermouse, which i would expect to be of a high standard esp as the RRP for these was originally £30+. It's gonna go to MS or i'll shove it up Mr B Gates Sphincter!

I thought all mice squeaked.

It's not supposed to make that noise, hence they will exchange it for a new one.

To make this crystal clear. Even if the mouse is not faulty, the retailer will receive credit/brand new retail boxed replacement. This is true for Microsoft, Logitech, Arctic Cooling, Kensington and some other brands that make computer peripherals.
