I'm looking for the full version of Pro (or the upgrade and the info for getting it to install on a new drive).

See http://www.software4students.co.uk/Microsoft_Windows_7_Professional_32_bit_Upgrade_Edition-details.aspx where it is £36.95 for the 32 bit upgrade. 64 bit and ultimate versions also available there. Seems to be legitimate as it is linked from Microsoft itself.

Thanks guys. Either of you have a link for getting the upgrade version to install on a clean drive ?

See http://blogs.zdnet.com/Bott/?p=1477 for a clue that the Vista double install trick may well work with Windows7. I have NOT tried any of this - so no guarantees.

See also http://www.winsupersite.com/win7/clean_install_upgrade_media.asp which is referred to by the zdnet site. This seems to give details of how to do it provided that you have a properly licenced full version of the OS you are upgrading from.

I'm not upgrading from anything, its a newly built pc with a new clean hd...

I'd buy the full version but the student offer seems to have vanished ?

I used software for students, took nearly 4 weeks to deliver but otherwise no problems. Its not a download.
