Are these home emergency cover things worth it?

Had Swinton call me and offer me this for £60. Thought I probably don't need it but was wondering if people find this sort of thing useful? I think I've had to spend approx £10 a year (average) on the stuff this covers for the last 5 years so i'd have been worse off.

Just wanted a 2nd opinion to see if anyone thinks they're worth getting? I may find that I need it in a few weeks and it'll cost me £500 if I don't get it for example.

I'm ok at DIY.

I can't see what is going to happen for me to use this, I've not in the past so am I likely to in the future?

Used mine for 2 blocked toilets (don't ask ) a nail through a water pipe and a blown circuit board. All free of charge
I probably shouldn't be promoting this though as I work for Swinton

Get a hurry on and e-mail me my cashback form then!!! Can't see why it's taken them nearly a week!!!

Also why don't they have access to e-mail? They tried to sell me this and I asked them to e-mail me some details so I could think about it and they said they don't have e-mail!

Have you checked your spam as these normally get emailed within 24 hours.
If you definately haven't had it, contact the branch that your policy has been assigned to and they will give you contact details for the cashback team at Head Office.
As for the email, its true, sales staff don't have even a basic form of email.
Don't know the reason why but I'm only a manager of one of the branches so not my decision. We do have literature in the branches we can post though.

this is a really ghood price.

BG charge about £150 alone just for the boiler / CH cover!

We have similar cover with Barclays (free for additions account holders).

blocked drain on a sunday would have been a nightmare without the cover. dynorod arrived within 2 hours and fixed it all (cost £365!). We paid zilch.

Lloyds Premier account comes with Home Emergency Cover, International Multi-trip travel insurance, Breakdown cover and international mobile phone insurance - £17 first 2 month and £25 each month then after. All depends if any of those others would benefit you though.

Hmm Lloyds one actually seems expensive now I look around in comparison to what other banks offer..
