Of course, of course it is
FAKE
. I think you've missed the point here - it is an illusion.

Wouldn't the house at the back be massive too?

Or is the house actually a tiny house but appears normal size to make the car seem bigger?

I think the point is that if you measure the cars on your monitor they all measure the same size. It's an optical illusion. They are not really on the street! Look at the reflection on the cars...they are the same car but the way they are presented makes them look different sizes

thats wrong, the lines converge and dont stay parallel, if they were the same size coming fowards they would separate

They are parallel, cut one out in paint and drop it overtop of the others and you'll see.

If you look at the path disappearing into the picture it appears to be getting smaller because of perspective vanishing points, that is, things further away appear smaller (hold your thumb up in front of a tree a few hundred metres away and you can hide the tree behind your thumb, but you know the tree is bigger!). The cars in the picture have not been scaled to take account of the perspective in the photo. You instinctively apply these rules and hence you interpret the car in the distance as being bigger than the one in the foreground. Not sure the image with the lines shows this very well, altough it is showing the cars have not been drawn to have the same "vanishing point" as the path in the picture.

It's an optical illusion...
not science...
Just a bit of fun...

Better way of showing it, notice the small remote controlled car nearest you, that was the massive monster truck at the back!

So actually the car is a different size, because if that was a real photo then if the car appeared that way it would be bigger. Like Erics said, the lines should be pointing towards a vanishing point rather than parallel!

I mean in this context. I don't think the picture was ever posted for any other reason than a 30 second source of amusement.

the cars at the same size just check it in paint if you wish.

But that's the point isn't it? If this were a real photo then the cars would have to be different sizes. You could make any photo where you put something in the distance to make it look bigger than it actually is!

For goodness sake! It's just a bit of fun. Seems we have scientists on the site at present.

Its a 2D representation of a 3 Dimensional World.

Cool illusion.

How comes the cars are all the same colour?

Only messing!:giggle:

As others have said, I think some people are missing the whole point of this thread - IT'S AN OPTICAL ILLUSION
