Are Vectras always this much hassle?

I have owed my vectra for 2 years nearly, 1st year was great, but this year has been problem after problem, still trying to figure out the stalling issue I last put thread up about.

I have just put £55 petrol in my car to find out pipe to tank is leaking and dripping, I called my dad and he said he didnt want me to drive with baby in the car, But I was so close to local garage so took it there.

He was useless, said he cant look at it till thursday but to leave car there, I told him I have to collect it tonight though :S so hopefully he will look at it, Would it be better in the Vauxhall garage further down that road?

Is changing the fuel pipe a big job? would I be looking at mega money? He couldnt tell me nothing, just basically acted like an ass probably because im female!

Looks very cheap, don't know how good these are but the RRP is £79.99!

Hated my Vectra problem after problem included perforated gear box, water pump DIED and clutch problems. Glad to be rid of it TBH.

just because a mechanic is busy and prioritises existing customers does not make them useless!

just take it to the vauxhall garage obviously - exactly what 99.8% of people would have done if it just down the road and mechanic cant look at car until thursday and you need the car tonight lol

Not that easy when you feel intimiated by the guy and you have a screaming baby lol Going to call vauxhall now see if they can do it now and then take it off this garage!

I've had my vectra 1.9 sri 3 years now, 170,00 miles later no major complaints apart from my alternator went last year (ouch) but i suppose that could have happened to any car, apart from that its a nice drive, fast and economical

The garage is useless because he cant look at your car because he is busy

Fuel pipe wont be that expensive but it will be at VX think they are about £80 an hour, plus parts will be full price as they wont use OEM ones

He is useless because when I went back he quoted me £150 for the fix, I said to him I will take it back thursday when I get paid! hmmm

ANyways drove it to my other normal garage as the dripping had stopped. and he says its just a hairline crack in the small rubber tube off pipe and it wont be mega money at all and take it in when I get a chance as its not dangerous if I dont fill my car up again!

Plus I meant he useless to leave a dripping car till thursday! all he had to say was no sorry have no one to look at it today, but to say leave it with us, I can check it on thursday for you, is a useless way of business!!

Do you expect him to drop everything just to look at your car and fix it , what about all the other customers who are having work done do you expect them to be put to the back of the queue just for you ?

Obviously he is very busy so cant be that bad if he is booked up until Thursday.

Anyhoo hope its sorted soon.

no I dont expect him to drop everything, What I do expect is the whole unsure of when he will do it, He said leave it here I can sort it thursday, then he is saying well I will check if I get spare hour.

Anyways Im glad I took it back off him because the £150 quote just proves its a poor garage!
