Are we all cheapskates at hotukdeals?

Weird this, because out of all my friends and family, I am the one who is most frivelous with my money, and yet I am the one who frequents hotukdeals the most (99% of them have never used it).

Maybe I am not as frivelous with my money as first thought! When I was a teenager my mum always scolded me for not being better at handling money and wasting it.

Well, I am going to show her my post history on hotukdeals and PROVE that I am good with money. HAH! Take that mum.

i think we become cheapskates as we get older!
as in we realise how hard money is to get, and keep hold of it, or get the best value

TBH, this site sometimes encourages me to waste money. I sometimes see something that is really cheap, but that I don't really want/need, lol. Anyone else????

No, I don't think we are cheapskates at all. We are people who like the get the best value we can and generally we don't like paying more than is necessary for anything.
I tell friends about HUKD and some of the bargains posted, and they are not interested. They say they can't be bothered, or they look at me like I'm a bit strange.
However, they are always the ones who are complaining of never having any money, and I don't. :-D

i think "bargain hunting" is a false economy... we spend ages trying to find things we want cheaply (so waste precious time) or we blow cash on things that are going cheap that we didnt want in the first place!

there are people in this world who really dont care what an item costs, im not talking about rich people either, but people who really cant manage money

I use the internet a lot when i want to buy something, I really like getting the best price, or knowing that I didnt pay over the odds.

of course you can take it too far and beg for posts to win an ipad.....

some people are mad, and wont see the price of items, if they are paying a catalogue off weekly, they cant see they are paying way over for their clothes and stuff, but are blinded by the few quid a week they pay, not realising the total

looked at your previous posts and they prove NOTHING id wait before showing your mum

Yes, same here. I like knowing that I got a good offer rather than actually 'saving' the money. If I find out that I bought something which was reduced in price by £10-15 in the same week, i'd be thinking about it for a few days after because I was 'done'

tbh, why pay full price for an item/service when 95% of th time, you can get it for less by visiting this brilliant site.

There are so many genereous/lovely people on here, even if you dont get what ya looking for at a reduced price, the visit to the forum alone was worth it.
