Not too sure which forum to put this in but I have found a useful link to test your current system and seeif it is compatable with windows vista which due to be released early next year (i think). this test is provided by AMD

not too sure if it will work on nvidia graphics card but it should as it works with intel CPU's.

but my system is a bit of a let down. my graphics card is a bit too.

LOL. For minimal configuration it accepts nVidia. But for any other (recommended or top) it says I need to upgrade to ATI card :)

Passed everything except the graphics card - only 128MB when the optimal is 256MB.

You can try Micro$oft's own Vista readiness calculator here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/getready/upgradeadvisor/default.mspx

Mind you with DRM, WGA, applications running upto 3x slower in Vista than under XP, and reduced gaming performance, there's no way I'll be 'upgrading' to Vista.

when vista is released it will still be full of bugs and cost a bomb!!!

Price will be about £150 for the basic version...yes it will probably take time to rid it of the inevitable bugs...but I cannot resist when a new Windows system is issued....that's why I'm waiting until its release before I purchase a laptop.
