I want to buy the Archos DVR Station but it's £20 off when you buy with an Archos player....So I'm wondering If I buy it can I then take the Archos back and keep the dock with the £20 discount?

My brother really wants the dock for xmas but £50 is a bit much and £30 is ok...

Can I get away with it?

Bargain site, not fraud site :)

Even if they did allow it (which they don't), the Archos is probably excluded from their money back guarantee.

technically thats what people doing when getting free delivery by buying Tesco SIM and then return it

but .... im not sure argos'll let it go... you can try... worst thing can happen you'll have to return both of them

Bargain site, not fraud site :)

Hardly Fraud, it's them reducing the price, am just trying to get at the reduced price without buying the player.......

Besides as above the tesco's thing is very similar yet no-one winges at that

Argos have got very funny about refunds on media devices, so not worth the risk.

Please note that this product is excluded from our 30 Day Money Back Guarantee. This does not affect your statutory rights.

I now await the next idea that the op buys it and breaks the Archos to get a refund. Shouldn't take too long.......

A person did do it (the archos was still sealed) but I think it was a lot of effort and if they catch what you are doing you are stuck with both items. (basically don't do it).
Buy it from additions (with the 30 new customer voucher) and it is 40 pounds

You're probably right, I bought an Archos (very small 20GB one) and they said that it was excluded from the money back guarantee.

If you do return items that were discounted for buying them together, they ask you to return all the items or no refund. I bought three furniture units (all the same) which looked like they were in a buy two, get third free however it was only if you bought three different units. When I got home I found I couldn't use the third one due to space I took it back where the sales assistant told me I needed all three for the refund until I pointed out that the units weren't on offer.

lets just say there is actually a way to 'scam' a lot of money out of argos if your clever enough. i aint saying, i did it once to just to try, made 30 quid , takes a few weeks but if you have loads on the go it could be sooo lucrative. im loaded tho dont need to stoop to those levels
