Argos data harvesting?

"I don't like the way your website mades the customer go all the way thru the checkout process before saying that the item is out of stock, even though it says the item is available for home delivery. If I didn't know any better, i'd say Argos are data harvesting card details. This practice puts me off of wanting to order for home delivery."

This is the message I just fired off to Argos. Anyone else had this problem?

I don't get you Scribbles ?
It tells you whether the items are available for home delivery by a green tick ?
For click and reserve you just enter a local branch or postcode.

What am I missing here ??

I'm talking about home delivery. The item I wanted had the green tick, but right at the end (at the 'completed' page) it tells me that it is OOS for home delivery. Could it not have told me that before I entered my card details?

I didn't realise it worked that way Scribbles. I had assumed if it had a green tick against Home Delivery then it was available AND in stock.
That's the case for Click and Reserve.

Certainly does seem illogical and to be honest I can't fathom why they would do that.

Be interesting to hear what they have to say although I expect you'll just get some automated reply.

Exactly what I was scrolling down to say. :p Except I would have used capitals, a full stop, "probably" and "more quickly". :giggle:

Only messin', Sassie. :-D Oh - and I saw a café called "Sassy" today and I thought "oh... they've spelt it wrong".

Their excuse was basically that the green tick means that it's available for home delivery, but not necessarily in my area. So how does that stop them from telling me that it's unavailable in my area before taking my credit card details? Answer = it doesn't. They take the postcode early in the checkout process, so they know what's available in my area before even asking for my CC details.
Like I said, data harvesting IMO.
