Need a bit of advice,

Ordered a vacuum Vax Mach 7 from argos (406/4781) had it about a week & then got rid of the box as it was a very big box n in the way. A couple of days later the vacuum become faulty so called argos up & they said they could send a replacement but the vac would need to be boxed up for collection i explained i had no box so they said that they could send a new one out & then arrange a collection an i put the old one in box the new one comes in.

We got the replacement on Tuesday & the faulty one went back yesterday.

Come to use the new vac today & it sounds like its a car revving it engine very badly. So called Argos back up & they said that they had no more in stock so i said i would like a refund. She said she could arrange a collection but it needs to be boxed. I explained i dont have the box & asked about taking it to the store & she said it would need to be boxed as well. An basically has made out to me that they wont take it back unless its boxed.

Its one of the biggest vac's i know 10KG. An the only box i know big enough is the box it come in!!

HELP!!!!

I dont know any where i can get a box big enough for it!! Can argos really refuse to take back faulty goods with out a box?

shouldn't really matter if it is in a box or not, it's a faulty product. Just return it to the store.

maybe speak to someone directly at one of the stores and explained you had to get rid of the box.

Well explain to them that the box has been taken away by their on guys. Tell them that it has gone faulty within the 21 days or what ever it is (if it has). If they still are not game for it ask them for store credit and get something a little better.

Also, where are you based, surely you can check on line to see who has one in store and pick that one up or ask them to deliver it. Put your foot down because if your soft with them they will walk all over you!

Yeah it does say that but the point is, it should not go faulty with in the first few days of using it. An ideally i want a brand new one that should last a while with out repairs

Yeah, iv check on line & some of my local stores have them in stock but no stock for on line delivery an as i dont drive it would be a pain to carry it there. You are prob right i will have to get tough & put my foot down. An hope they listen to me

Take it back to a store you wont need the box as you dont need a box if returning faulty items, if its being collected it will need some sort of box or the courier wont take it that's why it needs some sort of box if being collected

Everyone beat me to it, it's faulty so doesn't need a box. Having worked at argos (about 3-4 years ago mind) faulty goods without the box was never an issue, it just gets chucked in a cage with all the other faulty items to go back to Argos HQ. Best of luck! I guess the customer experience relies heavily on what kind of person is on the customer service desk... I was 17, fresh out of college and due to start an apprenticeship so I didn't give a hoot :p

Argos online customer services are really bad, just take it back to store, you do not need a box for a faulty product. And I think they mean the original box, not just any old box.
