Bought a new camera from Dixons this week and I;m due to take it to Paris tomorrow morning....the mode dial just came off! Can I return this to Currys for an exchange? as obviously with less than 18 hours till I fly I can't post it back!

well they were gonna do it but they wanted to see a receipt and I hadn't received anything from dixons all i had was the email confirmations

had the same thing with an ipod I bought online that I wanted to refund in store,they said they didn't refund online purchases in store,the thing to do is get your email confirmation,print off your order page from the website,then ring customer service explain the problem,get the name and extension of the person you spoke to then go into store.I did this and although they were very unhappy as I had spoken to the head office they refunded,takes 2 weeks for the receipt to come!

yeah the cynical side of me thinks that the reason the instore staff said they would do it no problem was because they knew i wouldn't have the receipt yet, camera still works if I press down hard on the place where the dial was and twist, just gonna try and use it and return it when I get back (a little more scratched up!)

the only thing u can do buy the same camera from Curry's
then just swapthe camera around
