Got my theory test tomorrow. I've been revising but if anybody has any tips/hints to do well, they'd be much appreciated.

Also any info or help with hazard perception would be good

Thanks guys :)

Practise Mock Test pages here on DVLA site (free)

http://www.dsa.gov.uk/mockpaper/theoryintro.htmhttp://

All you need to do is register, which is simple and free. Registration will provide free access to two Car,and to two Motorcycle, theory tests.

I passed mine back in 1984 so I didnt do a theory - good luck

For hazard perception just click whenever you see something move, seriously, don't be scared of clicking too many times, just don't click randomly non-stop, when you see something don't think just click.

thanks I'll keep that in mind
I know there's only 1 hazard per clip so didn't want to keep on clicking like a nutter

I failed it when they first changed the amount of points needed. If I had taken it a day earlier I wouldhave passed

As Abvance has said though, don't be afraid to click, just don't go overboard as you won't get any marks for clicking too many times.

If you have revised, the first part should be a doddle.

are distances given in ft and m in the actual test?
and speeds in mph and kmph?
#7
Good luck you will be fine

With the HP click three times when you see a hazard, that way if you're too quick/early then you'll still score.

Also remember that one of the clip has two hazards!Good Luck:-D

don't they have a thing where if you click too often in a short amount of time, they penalise you?

ha ha you get in trouble for doing that now!!..your not allowed. what i will say is i know so many people that have failed because they click too early and it doesnt register. so like another person said click once and then again about 2 seconds after. good luck

It takes a lot for the anti cheat to kick in. its looking for a patern of clicks rather than number.

One clip will have two in - remember, just pretend you're a really paranoid driver in the seat, thats what i did and you'll be fine.

Did you pass?
#16
Either of you pass?

I failed my HP first time, because i clicked too many times, that was about 4 years ago, might have changed things since then

HP was probably the easiest thing I have ever done.

I had never done a HP mock prior to the exam and I got 70/75.

I also got 49/50 on the theory side without revising or doing a mock.

If you fail your theory test you should be ashamed of yourself.

You mean in your dreams you got them scores?

It's just common sense seriously.

Just always choose the most safety related answer and you will be fine.

Wow, that's really bad.

They shouldn't be allowed on the road TBH.

I disagree, someone who passes first time could be more likely to be cocky and have 'fluked' it.

Doesn't matter how many times it takes. Obviously your arrogance doesn't agree though......

IMO if you don't pass within your first 3 attempts you should have to wait 5 years before being able to take your test again.

Chances are if someone fails three times in a row and pass on the fourth attempt they have 'fluked' it.
#26
5 years sems a bit extreme, but i do agree a 'cooling off' period would be a good idea, perhaps 6 months or so

lol I got the funniest question about when you may stop on a motorway, and as tempted as I was to press the option that said "to pick up a hitchhiker", my logic decided to kick in

Excellent, well done both of you!!
