Should be a very very interesting game, Liverpool have been pretty poor this season but everyone knows the Arsenal just can't cut it against the big teams, slaughtered twice by Chelsea and Man City and thoroughly humiliated by the rags last week.

I expect it to be a real battle from two struggling sides but Liverpools strength will shine through and I expect two goals past Arsenals porous defence.

My prediction - Arsenal 0 - Liverpool 2

Or Arsenal 0 - Liverpool 2 (you mean)

lol mate i think you predicted wrong to what you wrote, should it not be 2 - 0 Liverpool?
#3
That is correct, Ar*e will have a lot to do if they want to keep hold of that third spot and the Scousers are on a roll.

yep and I want arsenal to win so badly i'm putting all the money in my skybet account on liverpool, just like I did against man utd and chelsea!!

LFC - fan.

I still think Arsenal will win, but will be watching with me shirt on either way.

Awaits the entry of goonertillidie.

3-1 Arsenal :)
#8
In a way I want the Ar*e boys to win to help our fight for fourth but on the other hand I sincerely believe City can get third so a result the other way will do me as well.

Not sure why that makes sense Insomaniac, surely getting as many points is a better option.:?

If liverpool get beat, it will be easier to stay above them, if the ar*e get beat it will be easier to overtake them

What's with the *spoiler* alert?! Lol

ladbrokes will have this thread closed down for sure!

Everyone that are righting Arsenal off should read this, it was posted yesterday on a blogging site.

In the midst of a tough run, it can be difficult to envisage the easier times ahead, especially when things are going badly. But while it is common knowledge that our run in is easier than our rivals, the good news goes far beyond not having to play anyone in the top four.
In fact, our short trip to White Hart Lane in April is the only away game we have left against anyone in the top half of the Premiership. Not only have we already done our time at Old Trafford, Stamford Bridge and Anfield, but we’ve gone to the likes of Villa, Everton, Fulham and Man City, and aside from the latter achieved some very good results.
Put it another way – the toughest remaining away game is against a side that haven’t beaten us in a league game in over a decade. And our most difficult home game is tomorrow night’s meeting with Liverpool, another side who have not visited us and taken away three points in ten years. To fail to put a run together for the remainder of the season would be far more disappointing that the couple of defeats we’ve just had.

Arsen, is that you?

I'll give Ars*nal fans one thing. They are an optimistic bunch. (some might say dillusional!)

So a few games back, they hit top spot and the We're gonna win the league boasts started to appear. Now, despite the bloody nose received, they just can't learn to have a bit of humility and forget for once the pedestal they continue to Put themselves on and continue to be knocked from.

Ars*nal do play attractive football, there can be no doubt about that, but pretty doesn't cut it.

They're probably better off concentrating on the Carling Cup. A competition more suited to their ability and expectations - despite what they might think!

Sadly they got knocked out of that by a superb Manchester City, SWP and Tevezs goals were truly world class.

You know only too well, that only happened because they played their reserve team. If they'd played their best team (and not have the inbuilt excuse) they would have thrashed you.

On a side note, the league will look kinda funny if Pompey go under. Even Liverpool would be back in the fight for second spot, looking down on Ars*nal in the process. Funny how tonights game has such significance!
#20
It's an interesting theory yet the fact we beat their full squad 4-2 in the league seems to suggest otherwise. It was actually a game that Arsenal didnt want to win though, we aren't big enough for their time.

The last thing I want its the Portsmouth points being dropped, I dont fancy being down there with the Spuds and Villa in the fight for sixth

They weren't very superb at the weekend wen they got tonked by Hull.

LOL

I'm going 3-3 for tonight got a bet on @ 66/1

Everyone gets beaten by the small clubs at some point,

Chelsea beaten by Wigan, Stretford beaten by Burnley, Arsenal beaten by City, Liverpool beaten by Portsmouth

Not looking good for Portsmouth this morning..........failed to reach a deal with the Inland Revenue so off to the High Court. Already stripped of nearly all their assets so i think they'll be sent into Liquidation rather than Administration.

Shame as it was the only decent looking tie in the next round of the FA Cup. lol

Chelsea will also lose 3 points, and have no game wen they would have played Portsmouth later in the season, so it will make no difference.

I actually think it will be a good thing for football if they get wound up and cease to exist. Will hopefully prompt some other clubs to stop living beyond their means.

I'd feel sorry for Pompey fans...........but they've got Southampton down the road. :w00t:

The league would look a bit better for Liverpool anyway :) Could open up a four point gap between 3rd and 4th tonight, and only be 3 behind United if they lose to Villa :whistling:

1 Chelsea 24 39 55
2 United 23 33 50
3 Liverpool 24 19 44
4 Arsenal 23 24 43
5 Spurs 24 19 40
6 City 22 12 38
7 Villa 22 9 35
8 Birmingham 23 -1 34
9 Everton 23 -3 29
10 Fulham 24 0 29
11 Stoke 23 -5 27
12 Blackburn 24 -20 25
13 Sunderland 23 -10 24
14 Wigan 23 -19 24
15 Burnley 24 -23 23
16 Hull 24 -25 23

Gonna go with a hard fought 3-1 to us but if we don't bag a goal early I can see us losing it. Lol at some of the comments made in here by the usual suspects...thats all I am going to say for now

Thats a cruel thing to say (and I expect Hell would freeze over first!)

I've got a lot of time for Pompey tbh. Excellent noisy away support and have had the biggest away support ive ever seen at WHL yonks ago in a Wednesday night League Cup game.

I agree with the living beyond means comment. The debts clubs are now showing, makes Ridesdales mess look like childsplay.

Possibly bottom of the league and without a manager after tonight..... and whoever comes in will know that they're gonna be paid next to nothing.

Perhaps Mido will double his wages to 2k a week and become player manager :w00t:

Great fans there...........Fratton Park is the biggest dump in the PL though.

Sadly though the Tax Man is a super creditor and just shuts down. Portsmouth have nothing left of any value so they can't retrieve their money from them.

He's actually my favourite player now in the prem..........actually wants to play footy 1st and money 2nd. Very, very rare thing now.

For the love of god we dont want those points removing, it would be very unfair, especially to City and West Ham

So if Pompey do disappear, what would be fair :?

If Pompey do go then i wonder if the players would get special dispensation to join other clubs and how they'd sort that out.

Sky (Breaking) News Ticker say's that the Inland Revenue is pushing for a winding up order this morning.

I think Spurs get first dibs on any players so they can reunite with other former team mates!

Look on the bright side. Some non Pompey fans will cry at lost points..... and Judas Campbell will get a big fat zero.
