Ordered some razor blades online and although the order was accepted I received an email this morning saying order was cancelled as item was oos at time of picking.
I believe they should have provided a suitable replacement but they refused to do so.
Another case of being ripped off by major company not sticking to their T&Cs.

Bit harsh expecting somebody to lose their job and income just because you had to wait for a shave isn't it?..... And a happy new year to you!

I ordered blades that come with a razor so imo they should have been replaced with a similar item. Im not stupid enough to expect different heads for a different razor.

I believe that in certain circumstances they are not obliged to substitute....

Because under their T&Cs when you order online from what is supposed to be in stock items if they run out they should replace with a sustitute item even if it means replacing with a more expensive item. The choice is then with the customer whether to accept the item or not. Just cancelling an order doesnt help the customer it bails them out by not having to provide a more expensive item. This doesnt fill the online shopper with much confidence especially as you dont get the email until the following day saying its been cancelled.

But you haven't lost out so how have you been ripped off ? Slightly inconvenienced maybe but not out of pocket. If they had replaced it with an inferior product I would understand but they haven't. Good luck getting the picker sacked.

Asda will pick items not necessarily from the store closest to you. So you may
find the item in your local but that's not where your order came from.
Just on case you actually do go to your local and try to get someone sacked.

Asda has always subbed expensive items for me but its thing like handwash

Personally if i needed say razors (which technically i don't in this weather) sanity towels or something I wouldn't give a hoot if they replaced it with a inferior product so long as it does the same job and came to the same value, as i said 8 packs of value brand razors job done, who knows you might like the replacement, if not keep em for emergency or give em away.

Be different matter with things like bread if i bought a £1 loaf and they sent me 3 value brand ones but with things without a shelf life whats it matter?

Our most recent order asked for Shampoo and got Baby Oil as the substitute. Got the cost refunded and an eVoucher as compo.

Maybe I just have more important things to worry about than some razors. First world problems and all that

While I don't agree with OP rant, I don't agree with you either. There can be a big difference in quality of some value items and razors are one of them. I would personally never use them as they are horrible to shave with in my opinion, so if I have paid for a higher quality item that I like using I would not expect or accept an inferior quality just because I got more of them to make up the value. You can always turn it down I know but your logic in my opinion is flawed.

Such things exist? oO If so, do they work, and can you recommend a brand?

So you ordered a razor which comes with blades... not blades that come with a razor. oO

Why the hell would they substitute that if you specifically chose that razor? It's not like substituting one brand of cheddar for another.

So I suppose you are stuck in the dark age and dont do online shopping wheras I like to do a bit of both. I wish mods would take formal action against individuals like you as you have nothing constructive to say.
And. as most deals on here are online deals why are you on here in the first place?
