6 months ago i took out home and buildings uinsurance with Asda via Quidco as the claim was that i would get £49.50 cashback. 6 months later the insurance company have declined it again and claim they have no record! Even after i provided the full name, date policy number etc, they still play dumb. The Quidco team have chased this up for me twice and still not had any luck. This is no offence to Quidco who have always been brill.

Avoid this lot as they are just a cowboy outfit!

It took me 14 months to get Quidco paid on Asda car insurance last year.

I took pet insurance through Sainsburys, they have declined the Quidco payment, same reason, no trace of records. Funny that, seeing as they have paid out over £1200 on the policy when the cat got run over!

I got the same thing pending with ASDA Car insurance - they even told me I had the wrong policy number & an incorrect format - I guess they make a habit of it - would not even consider them again.

The insurance supplier that underwrites ASDA insurance products is BDML Connect Ltd and is governed by the Financial Services Authority.

Follow the complaints procedure with ASDA on the basis that they have failed to acknowledge you as valid insured customer and that you have provided the details. Explain to them from the outset why this concerns you and also mention the quidco cashback.

Lastly in the letter clearly state that in no uncertain terms that you are looking for confirmation that you are covered with them and that you will escalate your complaint to FSA level and wish to have the Financial Ombudsman Service investigate your complaint.

This investigation is completely free for you as a customer however ASDA/BDML Connect Ltd who pay the FSA to govern them will be charged somewhere in the region of £500 to investigate your complaint so if you mention this in your letter it is ASDA's best interest to engage in reasonable communication with yourself until you get a satisfactory resolution.

Please note that you must follow the existing complaints procedure first before proceeding to the FSA. Common sense prevailing then someone from ASDA should contact you to discuss your complaint, if not then be sure to provide the evidence where they stated that they have no record of you as a customer as this is a clear breach of the guidelines and rules that the insurer must follow in order to sell the products and can result in a substantial fine for them if they are found to have breached them.
Cheers.

I dont think they have a problem with the policy. Just they are getting the quidco declined.
