    dont they have a rule that if there is a mistake on your bill theyll give you a refund on one of the items on your bill

    im sure one of the supermarkets has this rule, thinks its asda

    But what will save you money, is if they do misprice the item and you pay and leave the store, then return a minute later - they should give you the difference back and a £2 gift voucher? I'm sure thats their policy on such things?

    yes its supposed to be £2-i always check bogoffs etc as i have been overcharged in the past as much at £5:x

    I always check my receipt too, quite often multibuy's don't come up so it's worth checking.

    Try the new asda in bridgend. The store is much nicer and it always seems to be quieter compaired to coryton.

    Interesting, I've noticed problems in recent months in Asda with misprices and being charged full price on BOGOFFs. If it's across all stores then that is a matter of some concern.

    Same here, they also post their 'deal' leaflets through the door, when you try to get it on the internet it doesn't have them on special (fair enough), when you try to get it in the store it also doesn't have them on special (not fair enough).

    The last time I was sorting out the overcharges I complained about the leaflet advertising offers they didn't honour and they tried to use the argument that because it said "some smaller stores may not stock all of the items" it meant even though they did stock them they didn't have to honour the offers. A case for the advertising standards if ever there was one.

    Asda have become very dodgy in the last year or so IMHO.

    I always check my receipt in Asda as they're not very good at updating their system when they have special offers. But its worth remembering which items have multisave offers as they're also not very good at updating when the offer finishes so I carry on buying the 3 for 2 for several weeks after.

    I always check asda receipt and i would say 50% of the time i have been overcharged and CS are not the best, repeatedly saying that i am wrong but its ok as i am repeatedly proven to be right!!!

    if i check it in the store i normally do not get anything other than the right price but if i have to go back to store then i get the £2

    Cynically, it always seems to me that the increases in not-honouring bogofs etc seem to coincide with the changes in computer systems at these supermarkets (first tesco, then asda) so that bogofs are displayed at the end of the receipt, after you've paid, rather than immediately after each bogof is scanned thru the till.

    This makes it much harder to spot overcharges.

    The self service tills show the cumulative multibuy discount increasing as you scan each time, so it is easier to keep track of things on those.

    they had offers in the westbrook store two for £3 etc on the end fridges. Didnt say had to be two same item-people were in long queues complaining. It wasnt Asdas usual point of sale signs-looked cheap home-made. Anyway they didnt honour anyone-just refunded. It was stupid and annoying. I wasnt bothered about the cheese-lol-just annoyed that it said £3.99 each or two for £3 but didnt specify same product-so i picked two different cheeses and had to queue as they charged me £7.98! They refunded despite me arguing they were misleading and quite probably illegal practices.

    I was also overcharged on bogofs twice in one week at two different stores, and the first store, Slough, insisted they no longer did the £2 gift cards.

    I emailed them to complain aboout the overcharging and the way that multibuys are shown as you scan thru the till and they sent me a £10 gift card. I didn't even have to mention the fact that Slough CS lied to me about the £2 gift card.

    What amazed me was that one of the bogofs was one of those almost-permanent deals that you get on all the nasty buffet meal garbage like scotch eggs etc. Not a transient offer that would be more explainable by human error when programming the offers nto the computer.

    I think its more likely the Walmart effect wearing off, when Walmart bought them over everyone in Asda (obviously management and above) were terrified, I worked in an Asda during the time of the takeover. Anytime someone with a suit on walked in the front door they thought it was a Walmart spy and the Managers got in a panic over the slightest mistake at the till.
    I think Walmart need to send a few people over to give them a little fear boost again :whistling:

    Tesco overcharges are great sometimes. I wasn't sure of their new policy at first, which I believe is to refund twice the amount of overcharge. When you get overcharged just a few pennies, it seems hardly worth the effort.

    But a couple of weeks ago, I found a book which was reduced from £3.99 to 20p (stickered). Rang up £1 on the till, so I got £1.60 refunded (2 x 80p). Better still, on the same shop, I bought a birthday card for £5 (incredibly expensive I know, but it was a talking-dalek one, so well worth it). Checkout rang up two cards by mistake, so customer services refunded £10 (2 x £5).

    I think I was lucky with the birthday card one, but it's ALWAYS worth checking your receipts.

    On a side note, Asda seem terrible at changing their prices from one day to the next which is a pain when doing your internet shopping as there's no indication on their website that an offer's coming to an end. That's when it's absotely essential to check your bill. Really puts me off using Asda internet shopping, but they keep on tempting me back with offers lol.

    i bought 8 boxes of honey shreddies on offer at 2 for £2.00. they scanned up at £2.07 each! huge difference! the supervisor that overrode the price to give me them at the offer price said they knew that this was a problem.
