Asda Online Grocery - BEWARE

I'm sure other people have been affected by this but I wanted to know what other peoples experiences have been. Last weekend I decided to try an online shop from asda as there always seem to be loads of deals posted on HUKD. I bought various things such as beer (£5) and razors (£5). When the delivery turned up on Monday night I noticed that although several things hadn't been delivered the bill was £15 more than I had been expecting. On closer inspection the beer had increased in price to £7 and the razors to almost £9. When I phoned the call centre the guy said I should have read the small print and that they can change the price. Is it just me but this doesn't make sense, surely the price you pay should be the price when you add them to your basket and not when the items are delivered (within reason, say 7 days). I phoned back to say I wanted to return the items in question and they said I could either return to a store (20 miles away) or wait for a van to be in my area. I won't be using Asda again but wondered if the others i.e. tesco, sainsburys and waitrose/occado were the same. Sorry for the rant but I thought on-line shopping was the way forward, i.e. being green and saving a few quid.

It states very obviously that prices will be as what they are in store on the delivery date, maybe you should have read that before ordering?

This will be the same pretty much anywhere for online food shopping, try going instore, or check when the deal finishes, the info is generally next to the price!!!

I know that with Tesco online shopping, when you add an item to your basket thats on offer it says when the offer is on until and when you choose your delivery day it tells you if that item won't be on offer still on that day so you won't be paying the offer price. Hope that makes sense!
Never used Asda before though, don't shop there, nasty place!!

It does state when offers are expiring, you just have to be careful to check.

On a related note, I have only used Asda delivery once and they made eight errors to the order; wrong products/missed products/pricing mistakes. I did have a moan and they refunded the errors and gave me an extra £5 back.

The offer I went for was valid for a year and they still got that wrong!

Asda is a pretty crap store in my opinion.

All offers had expiry of 31/12/2010 so go figure!!

My mum used asda for the first time online due to having an op and cant go to the store.
They made 3 replacement items, the rest was fine. But one of the replacement was she ordered a £5 piece of lamb, and they gave her a £15 piece of lamb! And of course you dont pay the extra!

She was more then happy!

i have only ordered once from asda online when i was heavily pregnant i think it was

when it was delived i thought wow thats well easy, on opening the bags to put stuff away, hey were packed really badly, (i always pack the same stuff together ie fridge stuff, freezer etc gets packed together)

anyway this was not the case, meat cooked and uncooked was packed together uncooked meat had bled over other stuff

but when i called to complain they were more than helpful and refunded me my whole shop!!!!

most of the stuff was saveable so i got a near £200 shop for free

Short use by dates, just took a delivery (my last i think) and items that show 7+ days on the site were 2-3 rubbish really.

Do you expect the person picking your items to **** about looking for long dated goods, or would you expect them to pick the first item that they see on the shelf?

My sister works on .com @ Tesco and they are told to pick the best dates, i do actually expect the same service from Asda so yes i do expect the staff to give a **** about looking for long dated goods…wouldn't you?

Im easy though because its costing Asda money every time they deliver to my house as i get money back and keep the item, the order this morning had Salmon with bucks fizz advertising it will be fresh for 7+ days and guess what it only had 3 days so i got a refund and it wasn't the only item i got refunded.

I'm not a moaning mini by any means but when a company repeatedly gives you **** service i will step up and make them pay!

Whereas most people would simply stop using the company in question.
