hi ive seen on some asda pharmacys they say £5 for a consultation doea that mean they could give you a prescription if you need one, ive tried to get in at the doctors but theres no appointments and i was up till half 6 with severe earache, ive had tonsilitis so think its related to that but my right side of face feels slightly numb and my ear feels like it needs to pop.

Never heard of that - pharmacists cant write prescriptions though can they? Does your drs not have an emergency surgery?

I had an ear infection last week, I went to my local walk in center and was given antibiotics prescription by the doctor on duty.
#3
when i rang the doctors thay said they had nothing till monday, if i asked for an emergency appointment would they probably fit me in?
#4
They can't leave you until Monday, your eardrum could burst! Thats why I went to the walk in center, it got to 9pm and I could feel the pressure building, it was unbearable and I was scared to leave it until the morning. Do you have a walk in center/all day health center locally?

Ask to speak to a doctor on the phone....my surgery get the doc to ring you back and if necessary leave a prescription at reception. Good luck

just been in asda york and they are advertising "health check ups" not like seeing a doc , more blood pressure and colestrol and glucose testing, then if out wrong you would have to make an appointment to see your own GP anyway so bit pointless in my oppinion . Id get back on the phone and demand to speak to a doc ,if your surgery out like mine the bloody receptionists think they know best x

Hope you get well soon, I got co-amoxiclav antibiotics and they kicked in within 48 hours, also got ciprofloxacin ear drops as my ear was that bad it had swollen completely shut and the doc couldn't even get her torch light in to have a look!

they never gave me any ear drops just gave me penicillin for tonsillitis and ear so hope my ear gets better, i can manage with a sore throat but being kept awake till half 6 am with ear ache isnt good when ive got a 4month old to look after.

Don't want to upset you but my doc said (and I know from past experience with myson) ear infections are rarely cleared with oral antibiotics, if you don't see an improvement tomorrow, I'd go back and ask for drops too x
#17
I wasn't trying to worry her, just saying give it a day or two and go back if it doesn't improve ;-)

my ears been ok today so far, still feels like it needs to pop but its not painful, its my tooth now whats driving me crazy, im so close to going to the emergency dentist its hurting that much but im at the dentist at 9:30am so seems pointless going to have a temporary filling then having to have it redone again tomorrow but nothings shifting the pain, ive had paracetamol, stronger painkillers, even tried my babies bonjela, that powder stuff, anbesol and a ice cold pack lol and its still hurting

im going to try one of them home temporary filling kits from asda, i would go to the emergency but im in on my own with my baby and the weathers bad so dont want to drag her out in the rain, thankfully my partner is going to pick me one up on his way home from work and hopefully it will ease the pain enough so i can get some sleep.
