This may be a silly question but when you get credit can you it against all items as asda or is it only against entertainment purchases?

They give you a gift card. I usually go straight to the booze. Especially if i had picked the games up cheaper in Game or Gamestation. You can use it for any purchase.

A tiny bit off-topic, but went into my local ASDA to get Need For Speed Hot Persuit. Brand new they had it for £27, thought i'll have a look at the preowned section to see if its cheaper, after searching for a few mins i found it hidden behind some other games with the price tag - £32 Used.

Went to the desk and told them about it and all i got was a blank look and them saying "Well thats what we value it at". I just said "Well its ok, i'll go and get it online for £20".

A monkey must be pricing up those games.

PS. Did notice they had Transformers for preowned at £25. I think im going to take a bunch of games in too and see what they offer, then use it towards my shopping.

They use a gun and scan the barcode. Its all done automatically. The gun prints out a new ticket and they just put the game back on display. The prices are all over the place. They had MAG brand new for £37.99 for the PS3. There is profit to be had in getting cheap games and trading them in there. Operation Flashpoint and COD World at War will be going in over the weekend. I got them for £4 each from Gamestation. They are sure to be giving more than that for trade.

No they need to scan a copy off the game. They can scan a pre owned instore copy as they have the yellow over the top. Sometimes you can ask them to see if they have a new copy on the shelf to scan but they get confused at having to do that. This thread is very good but a little dated now.

Cheers, seems odd that they don't publicise current prices...

In the store I shop at they struggle to keep the shelves stocked! On a serious note I did ask one off the assistants about when they change the prices. He said twice a week but he couldnt be sure when. He said one off the days was Thursday. All very hit and miss. I dont think they want to publish the prices as they may get stung when other retailers are doing better deals. At a guess the machine is updated every day. Would be handy if someone who works in Asda can post.
