just had an aspire one fail the bios flash (model ZG5)

The power light is now permanently orange,unless i take the battery out....

Even tried the FN Esc and power option with a flash drive,but the power button doesnt seem to do anything......

Help please,by the way it's out of waranty ...

Yep,thats what i've been trying,power button doesn't seem to function as soon as i put the battery in the light glows orange. . .. nothing else happens....

Yes, Tried both,light glows orange as soon as any power is applied and holding down the power button doesn't seem to do anything.....

Had one of these that died updating the bios & Acer said it wasn't covered by the warranty, wouldn't touch anything made by them. BTW I used to live with Josef Porta!

It needs a new motherboard im afraid. Best bet is to see if there is a cheap one on ebay you can buy and put in.

oops, I was hoping no-one would say that,but it's what i was thinking........ Ah well you live and learn i guess,,,,

im sure you can fix it, i managed to revive mine. You have to plug in the usb then hold two keys on the keyboard together, to try and flash new bios.
