I have EEE PC 900. It is the 20GB model and it had Linux on it. I got fed up with Linux and put Xp on it instead. I use a Huawei E220 HSDPA mobile broadband usb modem from 3. It works fine, and is surprisingly fast. I have been told that this only works on a XP/Mac OS and not Linux. However .. all is not lost, as some bright spark has apparently got around the problem here ...

There's no reason why it shouldn't. :) If you're running Linux do some research before-hand to see if you can have the adapter running perfectly under 'nix.

If I wanted to get a 3 modem working on an EEE / linux, as easily as possible. Is the Huawei E169G the best modem to get (by best I mean the easiest to get working)
    Thanks

I'm using a 3 Huawei E220 modem on a 4Gb EEE running Linux, and it works fine out of the box.

Guy in the shop (Carphone Warehouse) said that 3 have the best speed / coverage.
