Can't you get the address from ebay? I'm sure you used to be able to for this kinda problem.
#2

#3
Lee, I've only just got in but I have replied to your email.
I need the item number.
Also how did you pay?
#4
hi dino i will reply to you in Pm

Lee,
I will answer on here so others may be able to benefit. I will not post any confidential info, don't panic

Your seller is a drop shipper. The items are coming from Hong Kong NOT Australia :-(
Your seller does not look like a scammer but I'll have a better look in the morning.
Paypal will not be able to refund you because it did NOT qualify for Paypals buyer protection. Instead it will be passed on to ebays standard purchase protection. Ebay charge a £15 admin fee and they DO NOT include P&P in a claim. If worst comes to worst you will only get £184.00. You will only lose £25.
Was the paypal payment funded by a credit card or did you use 'cleared funds or a debit card? If it was a card what was the card, Visa or Mastercard?

Did you get the FedEx tracking number? FedEx have one of the best tracking services around. They beat PF hands down. :giggle:

Don't panic, yet. ;-)

I'll be back tomorrow, but let me know about the above.

I'm glad you spoke to the seller, I hope they do refund you. Do not close the dispute UNTIL you have been refunded in full.
Once a Paypal dispute is closed it cannot be re-opened.

Anyway:-
If buying from overseas you could get hit with a very big Customs Duty bill, if the item is worth more than £18.00. Customs could also delay the item by weeks.

Obviously I don't know the whole story here but how long does it take for an item to be shipped from Hong Kong by surface mail?

I know it's not eBay but we ordered a book from Florida via Amazon on 28th June and the estimated delivery was July 31 - August 29. It arrived on the 2nd August and had been delayed at customs. They had opened the envelope and not resealed it, which was very annoying but not unusual. :x Fortunately the weather was fine so the book did not get wet.

Isn't there just a chance that the 'phone it still in transit or in a customs wharehouse waiting for inspection?

I Have Tried To Buy Items From China And Have Them Delivered By Surface Mail The Shipping Time Is Usually 6-8 Weeks This Is Without Customs Delay

I GOT STUNG LAST YEAR BUYING OFF EBAY. Didnt receive the goods, Paypal were not interested, the item cost over £300 Ebay paid me £104 said that was their maximum pay out.
Also got in touch with my credit card company they reimbursed me the whole amount, then 2 months later reclaimed Ebays £104 difference.
Iwill never buy abroad on Ebay, and will only buy if its through Paypal with the credit card, as they will reimburse you.

Don't be put off from buying overseas but expect a longer than UK to UK shipping time, but saying that I've had items come from Malaysia faster than from a UK seller.

Make sure you are aware that there may be a customs charge and Customs take a long time 'checking' items.

You havent got make up on have you ? hehe

Ach i think it will plummet down to the bottom of the pack anyway, we will see how it goes.
#18
What's happened with your 'item'?
#19
Lost mate, dont ask why, how, who, when i have no idea.

How on earth can a package with a tracking code go missing, thats why we put tracking codes on items,

They have sent a claim form to Hong kong and the seller from australia has sent an email to paypal to release my funds (that are frozen) back to me.
Matey i had to get up on thursday morning and phone australia and i got adams (the seller) brother (which i think it was really adam) and told him the australian police in perth will be following this up, just to make him get his finger out.

Is there anything i can do Dino ? ive been waiting from the 23rd for this phone, obviously im getting my money back now but its now 14th october, paypal have been informed both ways, why does it take them ages to un freeze the money and send it back to me ?
#20
What did the Customs at Stanstead say?According to the tracking they have/had it?
Paypal will only refund you IF the seller has that money in their account? If not it WILL be passed on to Ebays BP. This could take some time and they charge you a £15.00 admin fee as I explained earlier.

Contact Customs, if they cannot help then it's down to Paypal or Ebay if your seller is not going to refund you.

FedEx have the best tracking around but at the end of the day it was Customs who last had it.

Australian Police??? Ummmmm ok.
#21
The money we paid for the phone has been frozen and the seller or i cant get at it until paypal has made a decision on the claim.

the police was just to give the guy a fright and get him to get his finger out, he was really bad at moving things along and he never hardly replied to emails

This is not right. The actual money YOU paid has NOT been frozen. The sellers account has been partly frozen. IF he had any money in it he cannot withdraw it but being a drop shipper I suspect not. Drop shippers need the money out of Paypal fast to pay the original seller.
Who is giving you this info?
If the seller you are dealing with has no funds he can 'add funds' to his Paypal account to refund you. He CAN refund you anytime. He could have stopped this a long time ago, even now he can.

What are the Customs saying??

Did I ask you how you funded the payment?
#23
You told me by PM that Customs told you they would be examining it tonight (11/10) AND?????

Something ain't right here :-(
#24
Ok we phoned up paypal and the guy told us that we had to wait for paypal to make a decision on us getting our money back.
What also he said was that paypal had sent the seller in australia an email sayong to send proof of a signature that i recieved it, if not after so many days it would go back to paypal and the decision will be made for us to get our money back.

Customs are just a crock of S*** they dont have a clue and neither does Fed-ex, mate im getting very suspicious about these customs guys coz if you look at the sellers account (do you have it?) you will see another person who has bought the same phone and not got it yet, i have mailed him and awaiting a reply.

i paid by meastro from bank account > paypal > seller

I have been involved in quite a few Paypal Disputes and they have only ever asked for the tracking number. You cannot send an email attachment to Paypal so it would need to be a fax. Faxes get lost unless you include the reference number etc. Hence the reason for the tracking number. They can see it online for themselves.

What did the Customs say on the 11th?? Customs officers would NOT steal your phone.
What are FedEx saying?
Contact your banks Fraud department and see it they will initiate a chargeback against Paypal. I doubt it but give it a go.

PM me the item number again.

A guy called chris cox was the person i got at customs and he told me to phone back the nxt day and find out if they had examined that parcel, they had loads of I-pods but no pink LG phone.

Fedex have sent a claim form to the shipper in hong kong,

ill wait before i contact the bank, ill leave it till wednesday then give paypal a phone and tell them to get there a** in gear.
you would have thought after all this time looking at the tracking number on fedex that it says it still hasnt been sent that they could send us back our money quicker
#28
pm sent ok

I know what you mean.
You are lucky that you have some protection.

On Thursday EMAIL me and I'll guide you through what needs to be done , if you want me to?
#32
both,

customs said that they def dont have that package

and fedex say that they cant do nothing now and they have sent the claim form to hong kong.

so hopefully paypal will see that the tracking code hasnt been sent to the destination and that all the emails ive sent to them including on the dispute files all add up to us getting our £210 back.

this has been a total nightmare, all because the lass wanted a PINK LG mobile lol

This is going to be a long complicated affair. Too many people are involved, the original seller, your seller, FedEx, Customs, Paypal and ebay.
You will get all or most of your money back but it may take time. Don't be too impatient.

The safest way to buy an expensive item from ebay is to make sure the seller has the £500 buyer protection and fund the payment with a credit card. Check the sellers feedback out. Make sure they have the item, ask plenty of questions, look for original pictures in their description and if you are unsure in any way use the back button.

use the back button.

yeh i do that more often now !!
