Avatar 3D or 2D?

I am thinking about going to see Avatar tonight but the 3D showing doesn't finish til 11pm and the 2D starts an hour earlier and finishes at 10pm. Ideally we wanted to go with the earlier one as my boyfriend has to be at work at 6am tomorrow but isn't the whole idea of Avatar that it is in 3D?

What would you recommend, 3D or 2D or doesn't it really matter (apparently some people have said in reviews that there isn't much 3D in it anyway?)

My mate saw it in 3D and has raved about it ever since, and said well worth the extra few quid to see it.

Gotta be 3D!! The effects are amazing and its not just the grass etc in 3D.

3D if you can - it's like looking though a window and seeing what's going on 3d rather than jump out at you and kick you in the face 3d

3D is the way with this fantastic film

Orange 2 for 1 makes it alot cheaper than going at the weekend. I haven't got work tomorrow so I am not bothered about how late it is but I don't want my boyfriend out too late as he has to be up early!

So is the movie any good? Does it keep you entertained the entire movie (as it is so long!)

I saw this a couple of days ago, it was the first 3D film I've seen
WOW IT WAS AMAZING!!! Go for it! Well worth the extra!

I went on Sunday just cos the girlfriend wanted to go but I really liked it. I normally struggle to stay awake when she chooses anything that's longer than one and a half hours but this film kept me entertained, I was really surprised. Great special effects, and the 3d effects definately made a difference.

I have seen a couple of 3D movies, none which really impressed me (although they were Toy Story 3D and Final Destination 3D!).

3d is the only way to see it as apart from the effects, its meant to be rubbish

cracking film - nearly three hours but it flew over

i watched in 3d and it was very good

going to see it in 2d too though

i would go with 3d and just have a late night - it's not like it'll make a massive difference having that extra hours sleep
