I recently downloaded the free Kaspersky anti virus jobby but it slows my pc down even when not scanning, i now have AVG instead(free version), when it finds the viruses does it sort them out or do i need to do something after the scan to get rid of them as it just closes when the scan is complete(after around 6 hours!!)

It will find which ones you have, compare it with its database of all viruses, work out which ones you're missing, and then go and get them in the background.

You should end up with a full set when it is done.

thanks matey, are you ok:thumbsup:

Is Avast a lot better than AVG - never tried it before - might give it a go................

........with AVG, go to Advanced Settings, Scan - there will be tick boxes to say if you want infections to be automatically healed/removed. I think these are ticked as default, but worth checking.

infinitely better. AVG is a very poor product of late.

Yeah it is, Kaspersky although supposedly top, I know your pain we had real problems with it and almost as many false positives as AVG :w00t:

the problem lately with AVG is that a lot of viruses aren't flagged at all. Noticed lots of threads on here by people saying once they put on kaspersky etc, then lots of viruses came up that avg had missed for years.

I wouldnt touch AVG at all now despite being an avid supporter for years.
