well yeah they love water mine jumped in the pond at the back of our house a couple of months ago the people fishing were not to happy lol. mine has just stopped shedding her fur and is getting her new coat though i will never understand why they lose it in the winter and end up with a full coat in the summer.

lol he is my mum took him to tatton park at weekend and he dived on a few people, eyed up a stag and decided to jump all over the place trying to catch a remote control plane.

ooh, he looks big!

what breed is he?

i'm not into dogs. they scare me. especially when i'm passing through the park and one randomly comes and starts jumping up to my chest whilst i freeze dead in m'shoes. it doesn't help when the owner is a mile away 'shouting, 'don't worry, he's harmless- he wont bite- he's just playing!'..yep, fair enough, but the 200decible panting sound is is more than enough to scar me for life.

He looks great. I have finally persuaded the wife to lety us have a dog although I have to wait until next summer when our daughter starts playgroup so we have more time for the dog; which is probably sensible. Thinking of a Spinger paniel myself as they were what we had at home when I was younger but am tempted to try and persuade her for something a bit bigger, although Newfoundlands (that is what this one is right?) might be pushing the size a bit too far.

i wished i had waited till my little one was at play school, it's soo hard giving the dog enough walks and not dragging along a frozen 2 year old who doesn't want to be there. My nan and grandad had springer spaniels lovely family dogs but very highly strung, give the breed of dog a lot of thought :)

he is a newfoundland and i can understand why any big dog can come across as scarey he is a nutcase and does try to jump up at people and we have to try and stop him and are constantly saying sorry to people he is only 22 months old though but weighs 50 kg at the moment so yeah he is big but still got alot of filling out to do.

yeah he is a newfoundland i didnt have a dog for 8 years but in the end decided to get a newfie and then got another one of which my mum now has as i couldnt manage both of them not with the kids as well silly of me really for buying another but we all do daft things from time to time. i went for a big dog mainly because growing up we always had big dogs (japanese akitas) i wouldnt swap her for the world she is my soft lazy lump. we are hoping to have a litter of pups off them this year which will be great fun but i cant wait for the experience its been years since i have been around a litter of pups.:)

thats the reason i had to give the male newfie to my mum as i couldnt manage him outside he is so so strong and there was no way i was risking it as if i had my 5 year old daughter with me it would of been dangerous. although he has caught my mum off guard and dragged her right into the road. he cant really be let off a lead not unless it was somewhere closed in thats why she will take him up to tatton park as he gets really wound up by cars and bike passing him.
