ouch my back hurts, quite low down and i reckon its cos of the villa i stayed at on holiday...the mattress was really firm and it was horrid sleeping on it.... would stay up really late watching bid up tv and what not on the lame astra so i was shattered and could just knock out in bed as there was no way of sleeping on that bed if u were slightly untired!

was bliss getting back to my bed ydy but my back is still sore.... gonna pop out to asda and get some heat wraps i reckon...whats the best ones and any other advice please.....?

hi magicbeans, pleased you're back, hope you had a wonderful holiday!!!!

Is this backache really because of a bad bed and watching biduptv? Or was it because of too much alcohol and late night bed aerobics with your hubby? hmmmmmm c'mon now, be honest

Sorry to hear of your pain magicbeans.
Bit late for my advice but i have a crushed vertebrae in my lower back and bought a firm mattress as it was supposed to really help but whenever i sleep on it (it's at my mum's house) my back is much worse. I get really bad back ache duing my period and have used the deep heat wrap thingys from boots before and they really help, last for ages as well (about 6-8 hours). If you can't get to the shop try lying on a hot water bottle and sleep it off. (uncomfortable at first but helps).
I have tried the gel suff but didn't really notice much difference.
Anyway hope it sorts itself out and the pain disappears.

I think its prescription only...and it works in a couple of days, Ive had really bad back ache a couple of times over the last couple of years and its the only thing thats worked, like you ive tried ibuprofen and it doesnt do a thing.
