Yesterday bailey gave birth to a beautiful tricolour boy :)
Then she had problems with the 2nd pup who had an abnormal large head & had to have an emergency c-section & then the vet put the 2nd pup a blenheim boy to sleep :-(

mum & pup are at home snuggled up in bed now.....

Thanks :) if she hadn't have had the c-section we most probably would have lost her too as the vet said there was no way should would have been able to deliver the puppy as his head was so large :-(

yes she did :-( no just my pets are frisky! she would have been fine this time & not needed a c-section if the 2nd pup's head hadn't been abnormally large :-(

thanks hun xx :) sad about the puppy but i'm more relieved that bailey is ok as she's my baby girl & i don't know what i would do if i lost her

That doesn't bear thinking about.
The pics are tugging at the heat strings. Hope Bailey is comfortable soon. :thumbsup: The dinky dog is so tiny.

he's not that tiny as the average weight for a cavalier king charles spaniel at birth is 5 to 8 oz & he weighed about 10 1/2 oz :thumbsup:

:giggle: He's a whopper then :-D ( about the size of my golden retriever's ear!!;-))

Seriously, if the other one was bigger then I can see how there were difficulties.

bailey's puppy died over an hour ago :-( he did a big stretch & yawn & then stopped breathing :( tried for about 15 minutes to resusitate him but couldn't get him breathing again :-( i'm devastated :cry:

thanks everyone. i'm a bit of a mess here as she was really maternal from the start with him so didn't expect any problems :cry: no more puppies for bailey now as i don't think either of us could go through this again :cry: we'd even decided on a name for him today as well :-(

sorry to hear the puppy died but you just have to focus on bailey now, she will have a sense of loss too.
its a hard business breeding dogs, you and the dog go through so much to have puppies and then for no reason at all a whole litter can die, its very hard.
hope you both get over it but i do agree i think you should give up having puppies after this experience.
