Sorry, can't help with seeds. I was given a bamboo plant by a neighbour and she just told me to keep it in a pot as they can take over otherwise.
Had it a few years now, very hardy, don't need to do anything to take care of it:)

i've got 3 bamboo plants in my garden which were there when i moved in 4 years ago, seem to be growing upwards rather than outwards so you should be ok, failing that get a panda as a pet to eat it if it grows too big, lol :p

nah like i said you should be fine, i think it depends on the variety, i have 3 different kinds (god knows what they're called) and two seem to be getting tall and not spreading out at all and the other one is small and bushy and staying the same size

Yes - lots of different varieties, some spread, some don't - start them off in pots and see how you get on, but they'll probably take a while to germinate! Good luck.

I have bamboo - not grown from seed, took an off-shoot from existing plant when I moved house - and it grows UP and OUT! Stayed small and bushy for quite a long time, though; then once it got itself fully established, it started its takeover.

So watch out!!! :w00t:
