Bank Of Scotland's New Bank Charges (Nonsense)

Bank Of Scotland have now changed their charges. If you use an ARRANGED overdraft you will be charged £1 a day (if your in debit from 1p to £2,500)
They will be making LOTS of cash from people this month who didn't realise this was going to happen.

One thing that they offered me was the Ultimate reward card which is £12.50 a month...another ploy for them to make money. Your allowed to have an agreed overdraft up to the limit of £300.
So in fact a vast amount of people may use their agreed overdraft which means Bank Of Scot will be making £30 a month. This is probably a way to get themselves out of pocket

Or it's just another way for the big wigs to get their million pound bonuses !!
Anyone else in this boat ?

Look I know people will say "just don't use your overdraft, cancel it etc but some people have to try and make end meet every month and live in their overdraft

i live in my overdraft, i pay £5 a month which doesnt bother me. i think the bank charges are stupid, they should be sorted out into different charges for certain amounts, if you go overdrawn by a penny or a pound then i dont think its fair you should get charged £30. it should be from 1p - £10 you pay a certain fee and £11 - £30 and i even think you should get say 24/48 hours to put the money in to correct yourself. i dont get charged often i got 2 charges last year and luckily my bank refunded them. but its so annoying when its for such a measly amount. i know people say you should watch your money better so things like this dont happen but i log onto my bank everyday and try and account for where my monies gone and whats going out/comming in but i can sometimes make a mistake.

When the banks need bailed out it's our bloody money that's used and we don't don't have the option to say yes or no!

makes me laugh when people moan about bank charges. Just move to a decent one!

(e.g Smile give you a £500 overdraft and just charge interest on a DAILY basis).

Anyway, customers of RBOS must know about this if they read their snail mail ;-)

I thought they charged £25 for going overdrawn too

if you dont lke it change banks at end of the day why shouldnt they charge for you spending money you dont have? im with a+l and they charge 50p a day up to a max £5 a month which is very reasonable and im more than happy to pay this when i need to dip into od.

when you look at this your £1 is excessive compared to a+l but £30 is nothing for being £2500 overdrawn

Overdrafts are a mugs game, if you really must use the banks money, get an arranged fixed rate loan.

Overdrafts can be " called in " at short notice, so be very careful using them.;-)

Part of Santander, the very worst banking group in the UK by far.
