hopefully you have contact details for them, go knock on the door. Not sure where you would stand with the bank, you sent the payment willingly.

No, because it's your word against theirs.

Would you mind sharing his/her username with us all..then maybe we could help?

I've heard some similar stories on Working Lunch recently and the banks say you have no rights as you willingly sent the money so they are not obliged to chase it back for you.

Okay even though i have all emails and texts showing the deal clearly ?

And it wasn't off it, it was more personally thing and not off a payment, in actually fact he was from the loot

Assuming you bought something from a forum, the username on that forum won't have any credibility as proof of identity. You're better off approaching the moderator of the forum you bought it from and see what they can do, but you'll need a lot of luck.

If it wasn't off a forum, perhaps you can provide more details on the transaction?

It's dead easy :-) just pop into your local court office with all the details and they'll give you a form which you fill in and return with your payment - used to be about £27 but could well have changed by now ! Costs work on a sliding scale - the more you claim the more you pay. The court process it and send it to the other party who then gets a specified time to respond - but you can get all the details from the court office - they're really helpful :-)

Good luck
