No it's not 2 way like paypal. The only way for them to get their money back would be to put in a fraud case with the bank, say if you took money for the goods and then deliberately dont send the goods.

thats not right.
The only way they would get it back would be if it was an unathorised transaction.

just try to verify as much as you can.
Check the address to post to is the same as his ebay address
make the ref something like for xxx from ebay
post using signed for service at least (special or courier would be much better)

Will do thanks.

If you deposit money into a bank account for a product or service and you can prove that the end user is not going to provide that service then you can contact the bank which has a duty to contact the recipients bank, who will contact the customer.

If that doesn't get a result contact the police as and report the theft. This is classed under section 15(1) of the 1968 theft act 'obtaining property by deception'.

But as I said generally no.

What information the seller gives to the buyer for the bank transfer? Is it the bank account number and the sort code? Anything else? How to proceed?

I think he can only get his money back if he says his Credit card was stolen. He has given me a Address with postcode & if it's his ebay Account (not hacked) then he looks a honest guy with over 600 100% Feedbacks.

If they are buying it from you and paying by bank transfer then it is likely that it will go through by Faster Payments, whereby the funds clear to you almost instantly. This method is effectively as good as giving you cash. It cannot be reversed by the bank, the only way that the bank may entertain a claim is if the customer was to claim that their online banking has somehow been hacked and funds transferred to you. Their bank would then, if they beleive their customer (they will usually claim that the customer must have given their details for online banking to a 3rd party, or use IP tracking to evidence that the customer made the transfer) write to your bank to request that they refund the money. It is not al all like PayPal where the funds are tied to the item, using BT is a method of passing funds - they are not linked to the item, and if the purchaser claims they have not received the goods this is a case between you and them that the bank will not get involved in.

lol you really are naive.

Recorded only covers up to £41.
So if it gets lost or damaged your out of pocket as your item is worth £450.

You need to post special or book a courier with the compensation cover.

Special recorded next-day delivery is that not what it's called ?
As for SHOUTING,maybe the Guy/Girl should stop using sentences like "you really are naive" as people like myself take such statement as insult.

I can see a part 2 to this thread.

why?

1.The buyer has messaged outside of Ebay to save themselves £25 seemingly, but then loses all protection Paypal affords.
Would you bypass Ebay's buyer protection on a £450 item to save £25?

2. The seller has no idea about the method of postage to use.

3. The seller has no idea whether the buyer is going to deposit cash into their account.

4. The seller thinks as long as the "credit card" used is not stolen, it's fine.

5. The whole thing stinks.

except the buyer isn't paying by credit card, bank transfers cannot be reversed unless it was a fraudulent transfer, and depositing cash pr doing a transfer doesn't really make that much difference.

Also I'm not on any suspension at AVForums you weak man.You are Trolling again as weak people do.

3. The seller has no idea whether the buyer is going to deposit cash into their account.I already had the money in my bank & then that's why I came here to ask about BT.

4. The seller thinks as long as the "credit card" used is not stolen, it's fine.I still think that & why do you not ?

5. The whole thing stinks.Stinks of what ? Me accepting someone's offer for something by BT & then me & the buyer saving money on the item & both of us are happy ?

Are you saying you would not do the same lmao.

The last post on the HUKD thread is after the first post on the AV thread hence the thread on here was not closed before listing on there,as per forum rules and you wasted a members time as they made offers after you listed on AV To which you failed to reply

Apologies you are on a month long trading ban on AV for listing elsewhere.

Also homophobia and sending veiled threats via pm is a bit silly

Good Day

Good Day
You will have to accept you are to weak to be a mod & to much of a snide person who prides themselves in trying to hurt others.I've seen you insult people on here who have been scammed on a daily basis & people like you are the one's who should be banned.

The PM I sent you you should copy & paste in here instead of making-up more story's.
As for having the same item on here & AVForums at the same time you are telling more porkies.
My listing on here states No longer for sale & then I went to AVForums.
As for having it on AVForums & ebay then this is correct,But on AVForums my last post said Last bump or going on ebay....2 days later it went on ebay.

You are weak & a coward as I've told you many times & you have no balls to back this up,But you instead want to keep hiding behind a Keyboard.

Woopy Woopy Do "Crime of the Century" & you wasted more time jumping from Forum to Forum reporting people for something so silly.
Why are you so Weak ?

it's Special delivery that is Recorded & that is what I meant & but not a problem any way.

Selling outside of ebay was OK because the buyer sent me payment first & that's why I asked on this Thread for help.

You will find when people ask for help on here you get Boothy trying to insult them almost everyday & nothing happens to him.You then get someone selling something & they make it clear on the Thread Item is no longer for Sale & you then get a weak guy who wants to be a mod press the report button.....I know he's a weak guy & he knows it as well.

I'm glad it's cash that was deposited, and not a cheque.
