ha ha no large amounts of money and strange account activity are looked at by the banks fraud and money laundering teams
#2
depeds if it was legit or not, although i'd kind of question someone if they did, unless money was from a house sale or something, but then i surpose it wouldn't be cash.

why and how would you do it?

fancy sharing with me ?? :)

It would flag up immediately under the money laundering regs,

You need a money laundering service to clean your cash I would do it for 15%

Bank have no right to question you.....................however they'll probably call the Police who will then tickle your rectum with their fingers. :)

HTH

a friend of mine used to work for a bank, and they said anything over £5,000 in cash in one hit is looked at.

if i had that sort of money, i would keep it all in cash. As soon as you pay it into your bank account you will be questioned money laundering, tax evasion etc etc.

Or you could just blow it all on a nice car or similar

£5,000 a day over 20 days, sorted! haha :-D

If the amount is over £5,000 it will be looked into under money laundering regulations. The bank may just be subtle and ask if the money is going to be used for anything or if you intend to save it should the money go straight into a current account.

If the money/way you got it is genuine then it doesn't matter. :)

If it's bent in some way then they'll get you eventually and you'll be picking up the soap for a few years.

It's hard to shake dirty money without your footprints being tracked. It all depends on how patient you are but I think you'd have to place your eggs in many baskets!

Go to a casino, buy some chips, spend a few then ask to cash the remainder in and be paid via cheque, you then have a nice legit cheque to pay into your bank from your lucky night of gambling. Well thats how it used to be done, I doubt it would work anymore.

I can sort you out some mate

I got questioned over a £3,000 cheque to myself even though it was from my grandparents with a similar name. I then got questioned over a £3,600 withdrawl in cash.

It depends. In your case, yes you would be questioned and if you couldn't come up with a legitimate reason, they may get authorities involved. However, if you had a higher balance to start with, they wouldn't see it as strange. It's cash, and that's always looked at carefully so my advice would be to do what others have said - spread it over a few accounts and don't pay it all in at once.

if you open new accounts dont forget to go through Quidco
