very nice result although an away goal would have been nice but shutting out Barca at home can't be argued with.

The return game will be interesting as Barca will really have to attack and will leave themselves vulnerable to counter attacks with two central defenders missing giving Drogba an easier path to goal!

Didn't they play in yellow ?

How can Chelsea claim to be a top team When they can only play Physical defensive football with zero flair ?. I thought this is why Mourinho was sacked .

True, was praying for the away goal,we came close twice, but,to be honest I felt Barcelona did not present the threat I thought they would.

Messi was shut out in the second half and nothing Henry or Eto did worried me in the slightest.

Looking forward to the return !

Yeah, 0-0 every game.

Except the 4-4 in their last game in Europe and the 3-1 away win before that.

I thought we started a bit shaky with a number of dodgy challenges but were a bit more composed, it would have been nice to see us have a similar performance to the 2nd half at Anfield but that would be asking a bit much!

Messi was handled very well and was limited to only a few chances, Eto wasn't really at the races apart from when he got passed Terry and Cech made a super save (one of many!) and Henry could have had more help on a few occasions. The return game should be a good one, with Cole back who will play on the right? I think Bosingwa!

Why would they not be a top team when they have an 'interim' Manager who's helped guide the club to the Semi Final of the Champions League, the FA Cup Final and kept them within spitting distance of the Premier League also?

TBH, Cole wasnt missed - coped well without his presence - although his return may prompt even better displays than of late !

Malouda had a good game, and Didier was stirring it up well.

Ballack didnt do it for me..... wonder what Hiddink reckons?

a score draw would have been a result.

as it is, Barca are favourites, they'll nick a goal and hold out

Because they quite clearly are.....ask any (sensible:thumbsup:) Barcelona,Man U,Liverpool fan.

Brilliant tactics by Hiddink to snuff out most of Barca's force and rely on winning the return leg (as Euro sides used to do to most English teams years ago)

or

Plain boring, every man behind the ball and kill any kind of a game making no attempt to try and get anything out of it.

I'm 50/50 on which one it was.

I have to say well done Chel$ea, Managed to keep them at bay, Return leg will be interesting.

I personally prefer to see attacking football from both teams, Barca looked very good until they got close to goal, At which point they fluffed all their chances.

In a way with these sort of games you have to ask yourself why play them over 2 legs?

Chel$ea played for the draw, Barca failed to score and all will be decided at The Bridge.

I suppose now Chel$ea will be favourites to progress, Barca looked shaky at the back, I feel Chel$ea will be hitting their heads against the wall after Drogba's golden opportunity for the away goal.

United played a similar sort of game last season and luckily it paid off but their was certainly some nervous moments in both legs.

If you play Barca in an open game, you'll lose. Chelsea were lucky tonight, but also got the tactics right.

Those who moan about it being boring know nothing about football.

Ballack was lucky not to see red tonight!

Malouda was a surprise yet again. What do you think about Lampard being taken off with 20 minutes still to go? With Essien in the middle, we seemed to win more ball and get a few more attacks!

Cole wasn't missed too much but he could help with more attacks on the left than what Bosingwa managed! With Bosingwa on the other wing, Alves might have to stay back more also! We need to get crosses in to their back line as their defense was shaky!

Liverpool have been their in recent years in the CL and gone for the win, and got it. Liverpool are still the only English team to win at the Nou Camp, which they also done when they knocked Barca out the UEFA Cup in 2001.

I have to say Barca are favourites, merely because they have two options, score draw or win. Chelsea have one, win. It wasn't a magnificent result, Barca were poor

This has to be a first but I agree with a Red Devil for once :p

I don't think Chelsea were looking for a draw but to snatch a goal on the break whilst shutting the back door!

What people are forgetting is that Barcelona are the best team in Europe. Chelsea couldn't just go out and 'have a go'. They had to be smart about it and so far they've done that.

Agreed, look at how many goals Messi, Eto' and Henry have scored alone this season!
Any team would have to concentrate on dealing with them which Chelsea did. To go away from home and stop Barca scoring, for the first time this season, show's what a great job Hiddink did tonight. What will happen at the Bridge is another matter as our home record hasn't been too hot but against Barca it's been proven Chelsea can beat them!

Very much so !

Not the sort of game you want to rest one of your best players in - who knows :?

We'll have to wait a couple of weeks, but I reckon Bosingwa had a pretty good game - looking forward to the second leg

Not been proved yet. It would be great for 2 English clubs to get to the final 2 years on the trot but you have not beaten them yet.

We've managed to progress in the Champions League previously after beating Barcelona at home so it is possible to do it again. There is still another game so we just have to wait and see what happens with that!

To go through you have to win, a score draw and they go to the final

Return leg will be completely different IMO. Chelsea will be more attack minded and this may let Barca in a bit more than last night. So who knows, any result wouldn't suprise me.

I think Barca have the slightest advantage atm.

It really is on a knife edge, as I am sure the other semi will be.
