The worrying thing is that Young will go without blinking an eye. Its up to O'Neill to ensure he gets some top quality signings in which he hasn't lived upto in recent seasons.

Everyone does forget though that Young cost Villa £9.8m so I would guess they'd want a bit more than £20m.
#3
Lets hope so ........ :giggle:

He is a good player but also a diving cheat, so would fit in well at chelsea :)

I have no problems with Young going to Chelsea, who wouldn't in their shoes.

From a Chelsea point of view never really been the same on the wings since Robben left IMO.

I wonder if there are any Equadorian wingers available?

Guess that Bentley will be mentioned if he does go (I hope not tho, Spurs fans are probably getting excited now)

If Bentley was leaving, I'd certainly be happy!

Not knocking the signing for the Blues fair play to them.

But i was suprised to hear Sullivan say on the radio "yes it is a bit of a gamble"

Well I think Blues are still reeling from Palacios. They had the option to sign him for £1m but turned it down as the manager hadn't seen enough of him (due to flying home as his brother was kidnapped) so Bruce nipped in with Wigan bought him for £1.5m and Sold him for £15m less than 12 months later... that is a huge mark up which can't haven't left Brady happy but she was probably too busy at the time on the apprentice or down the police station...

Because of the this they are trying to sign further south americans to make a fortune on them...

Can't see why they would sell him for the same as we paid for him?

We don't have to sell.

So we would sell him for the same price we bought him for less than 12 months ago? Dream on. You will need more than £12m in your begging buckets. Or maybe Liverpool would like a payment plan until 2039??????

MON will be stubborn surrounding Young and if he did go it will be for a hell of a lot more than the £20m being banded about in todays Mirror.

if you sell alonso and replace him with silvin distin for 2 mill

then you may have some cash or maybe it will be cyphoned into the void
#26
I think if they bid he (Young) will go, as said above I don't see Young as a loyal sort of bloke.

His head would drop if forced to stay so i would say MON would sell at £20M
#27
How much is being banded about for Alonso, I haven't seen any quotes.
#28
If Young goes I would like to see Anelka come this way.

Then MON would need to follow him out of the door.

Didn't Young sign a new contract during last season? We got £12m for Judas Fat Ass with only a year left on his contract so Young with around 3 years left on his would certainly go for a lot more than £20m

I also think Young would be loyal sort of bloke. MON has made him into the player he is and knows how to look after him. Young would not get Ancelloti or any other manager rushing onto the pitch after a game and calling him a genius (Goodison Park Dec 08).

Finally Young is trying to break into and then cement a place in the England team and he would struggle to achieve this being part of a Chelsea squad rotation system compared to one of the first names on the teamsheet at the Villa.

Agree with what you say BUT £££££££££££££ i'm sure is what will decide it.

you villa fans are getting extremely bitter these last few days

cant you see the owners have no interest in investing and going any further than they are......can you not blame the players for wanting more especially after 10 loyal years

Based on what? It's the 5th June and the transfer window doesn't close for another three months!

So loyal that he chose to s l a g his manager off in the NOTW last July in a bid to engineer his dream move to Liverpool because he was "at the stage of my career I have to be playing Champions League football"..... and 12 months later he turns down a new contract for £80k for one at a club without European football next season for £110k.....

mate manchester are buying....investing and moving forward....ambitions and the funds to fulfill them

villa can not and will not , they have said so many times

btw not everything is said how they portray in the notw......10 years mate 10 years

Yes, i'm sure money was a factor but barry is probably bored being at villa.
10 years is along time to be at one club, driving to the same training ground every day, mostly same faces, same dressing room, living in brum etc.....I'm sure it all gets very boring, like any job really.

Also, i'm sure he was told which other big names were coming to eastlands in his meeting.

More money, new scenery and potentially playing week in week out with world class players, it's just a no brainer for me.
