I am contacting OSPS to see what they make of these complaints.

EDIT1: The link you provided me with seems quite concerning. Has anybody else had problems?

EDIT2: I've contacted them to get a statement. If you have any updates, then please report them to me. When I get a reply I'll post it here. I have requested details of whom can be contacted. I'll post some links to help you make complaints, even drastic links such as Trading Standards and BBC Watchdog. Updates will appear here...

IF ANYBODY ELSE HAS PROBLEMS THEN PLEASE LET US KNOW!!

try the £15 of phone calls chasing them up to even get the cashback -- having said that had no problems for second cashback, and last one is to be sent out 2morrow.

was quite nice recieving the two cashbacks within a week :)

Yep - I've had problems with them too.
I ordered a phone a few months ago. On the day I ordered, it was 10 months free line rental (via cashback). However, they don't process online orders straight away and by the time they did (2 days later in spite of the "same day dispatch" promise), the offer had reduced to 7 months free line rental.
Then, 2 months after I sent the first claim back, I'm still waiting on my cashback. I've rung weekly and each time am told they're a few weeks behind and it will be sent soon. I don't think it'll ever come to be honest. :-(

Hmmmm. Not quite sure how true it is that they are a 'few weeks behind'. I sent off my claim about 3 weeks ago, and was surprised to have my cheque turn up a week later.

Well I'd rather purchase with e2save.com - I've had success with them and others agree with them.

www.e2save.com have a price match policy, so if there's a OSPS deal and you're iffy about them then take it to e2save to get it matched.

Incidentally both e2save and OSPS are owned by the Car Phone Warehouse.

I'm having problems claiming cashback from them. I sent my voucher off on 4th Oct and have heard nothing back. I've emailed them asking where my money is, as polite as I can be, no reply as yet. They state 21 days on their website and they should honour it.

I'm going to give them a few more days, then I'll write a letter to them. If they persist on being evasive towards me, then I will happily name and shame them on the many forums I visit. I'm just hoping they are having some temporary problems and normal service will recommence soon.

I've seen on MSE that others are having problems. The site won't let me register so I cannot add any comments.

yup it seems that something is not right in OSPS land. I find it strange because they are owned by Carphone warehouse so they should be stable and on the ball. I can't see how they could be experiencing all these problems that people seem to be having with them currently...you'd think they'd have it together!

I did have problems with OSPS as well, tried to get a phone, but was some problem. Got rung up about another contract phone with them, turns out they didn't have the colour in stock, then because the deal changed, it wasn't worth it. Then tried twice for another phone but didn't work. In the end I rang up and sorted it out there (miss out on the cashback tho :( )But phone did arrive next day.
Never had trouble with the cashback, but only applied for it once
Also, be warned that you need to cancel the insurance within 14 days, otherwise they will direct debit it from your account after the first 3 months free insurance, from what i understand of it anyways (not sure, sorry if I post that wrong)

I wouldnt go anywhere near any company related to the carphone warehouse as they specialise in mis-information and conning people into signing things such as talk talk contracts hence beware of their sales techniques where they pretend they are working with BT or giving our complete misinformation about other telecom companies to get you to switch your landline over , this is usually presented as a "special bonus" when you buy a mobile

i have a different kind of problem with osps. i made 2 orders in early oct. but neither had come with the £10.00 voucher as advertised on the site. so i phoned, and they said the vouchers were out of stock, but will send to me once they are in.

well, if they have arrived. i wouldn't be posting this message here.

anyone has similar experience?
#12
I hate OSPS and warn off all newcomers.
Problems thus far:
No recognition of my Quidco link (£20 I think!)

Took ages to send my phone - apparently because they didn't have the car chargers. I argued they should just send me the damn phone and send the car charger separately - which i've STILL not received nearly 8 months later.

Sent back my first cashback over 3 months late. Just cashed it this week and am already due to send my next one in.

Never received my 300 free txts/month for first 6 months bundle.

All in all a very unpleasant company. Wish i'd never bothered leaving my direct custom with Vodafone themselves.

I would just like to add that I am still awaiting payment from them

Still waiting for my first money-back cheque - several telephone calls and 75 days and counting.

I followed every fine detail they asked for but they are giving me no end of problems.

I can see this going to small claims.

I wish I had googled them before using OSPS - it seems they are a complete mess.

Maybe the users who have had problems should file complaints against OSPS on the watchdog website, I think it's www.bbc.co.uk/watchdog - the more complaints they get from different people the more likely they are to feture it on the show and pressure them to cough up.

Good luck.

I make you entirely right duckmagicuk2.

I used my time whilst waiting to speak to customer service doing precisely that

Remember as always to note down somewhere:

Date/Time of call or date of letter.
What was said in the call or keep a copy of the letter.
Record what was said to you and any replies to emails etc you received.
For each call, letter or email try to make a not of who answered it.
Letters should be sent recorded delivery and signatures should be followed up if they claim not to have received them.
If your email client allows it then try requesting a "read receipt" to get an automatic reply when they get it. OSPS can click "no" on the option to send it back though.

>> Add to the Watchdog Complaints list <<

If you want to phone Watchdog: 020 8535 1000

The more complaints they receive the more evidence they have to put with their claims. They're more likely to sort out the problem.

WHEN FILLING OUT THE WATCHDOG FORM:

Under subject put "Contracts and Billing".

Under company concerned put "OneStopPhoneShop.com", it's better than putting OSPS.

Make sure you tell them waht's been going on.

If you have been emailing or writing to OSPS and sitll have the letters/emails saved then tick the box saying that you have copies of correspondance because the more people who have that the more evidence they have available.

Tell them that you watched the show last week. They'll be your friends then. :P

MOST IMPORTANTLY: Where it says "Are you happy for us to forward details of your complaint to the company concerned?" make sure you select yes.

If you select yes to this then your individual case can also be fought for more strongly. If they've passed your details on and you make another complaint directly to OSPS they may realise that you've got watchdog involved, and not wanting any bad publicity they may try to sort out your specific case.

GOOD LUCK, I'll see you all on the show very soon.

I have just been stupid enough to order a phone from them, it says nothing of such on the order page, but from advice from another site, the order will still go through. I just hope they were honest about the price of the line rental which is £20 with 1000 free off peak minutes per month. I will be gutted if I don't get the cashback.
#19
Send the claims okay and you'll be alright. Customers seem to have noticed them shaping up at the moment... thy're improving their service. They were a good company before CPW took them over, but the changeover didn't work too well and they were left high and dry with back orders for cashback, probably not the best motivation. They seem to be doing okay now though.
#20
thanks for the info duckmagicuk2, I hope your right
#21
Maybe I'm lucky, so far..... ;)

Haven't had problems with them. Ordered a phone and got it 2 days later.

I even got a car-charger, which wasn't part of the deal.
#22
I've found them lately to be a lot better service wise. My phone turned up next day and everything explained about cashback in the box, seems all good so far. Even if I don't get any cashback, £20pm is a fair price so I'll still be happy.

moosey dont be like that   dont let them con you ! you should always fight  we can fight problem companies together man !

 @ ryoooh!!

Just make sure you send your claims on time and the correct ones. After that you should be fine!!

I'm sure I'll get the money but the way I see cashbacks is that if I get them, great, if not, I should be able to afford to meet the bills still.

I got all my money from my last contract with OSPS, one took a while but as ducky said above, its likely due to their moving about with CPW.
#26
I've never had a problem getting cashback from them. My last cheque I got a few weeks ago, only took about 1.5 weeks to arrive. I always send my claims recorded delivery.

Don't think I will use them again. I have been often tempted by their very good deals.

On the last month of my contract, they would ring me every day, leave messages, asking me if I wanted a new handset, etc. One message they left me said; "computer say no!" I professional company? I think NOT!
#27
Beetle... don't let those messages put you off. Most mobile retailers do that, and the networks play a part too.

I'm with e2save and I've had a lot of calls from e2save and three on both my housephone and the mobile. Just keep some sweet wrappers in your pocket and rustle them by the speaker shouting "I really hate this network, the quality is rubbish".

:P
#28
Are OSPS getting BETTER than e2save? Here people talk about how fast they are getting the cheques, and meanwhile e2save has put on its website that cheques are now taking 45 days to be processed!!
#29
It seems that way to me Ducky. Maybe they are now moving over systems?
