Beaches in Ireland

Can anyone offer any advice - we are looking to go to the south/south east coast of ireland in the busy summer months and have two small dogs. We have previously been down to the Kerry area but don't want to go that far down, we would rather stay nearer Wicklow/Wexford/Waterford/East Cork. One thing we liked about Kerry were the quiet beaches.... does any one know any nice areas to go with quiet beaches in the areas listed above where you can take dogs off lead ?

We stayed just outside Arklow a couple of years ago. Brittas Bay beach was about 4 miles away. The beach was lovely and quiet (in August), there is a good sized car park, a snack bar and toilets as well. Not sure whether dogs are allowed on the beach though. I booked the cottage through Imagine Ireland.

'Your Dog' magazine has a section at the back with dog-friendly holidays in, that might include Ireland (although the section on their website doesn't). If it does, that might give you some info or ideas?
