Been constantly thirsty all day

Hardly Slept at all last night kept waking up very thirsty but was to tired and disorientated to realise to get a drink. When I got up this morning I felt like ****, the wrst I've ever felt I would say the smell of food made me feel very sick, haven't eaten all day. Ive been thirsty all day on about my 12th half pint glass of water. About 2 minutes after drinking it I'm thirsty again though. The heating is off as well. Anyone ever had similar issues or know what it could be ? Oh and I haven't been drinking/smoking

Its not sea water your drinking is it?

Both myself and Mrs W were like this this week. Mrs W's illness lasted about 4 days and mine about days before we felt better again. Think its just a stomach bug. But your symptoms are exactly described as we had

are you pregnant?

Was awake in the night in a disorientated mode, vey difficult to explain I'm going to sound like a freak, I thought I was a drama teacher even though I knew I was in bed, not sure how to explain it, a really horrible feeling, like you can't move out of bed even though I was very thirsty and hot. Almost as if I was asleep but watching my self. Like I said very weird and hard to imagine.

Comedy thread. Liked the mention of Nan especially.

So you are ill. Like I am. Similar symptoms. However, I didn't feel the need to make a thread about it.

Being ill sucks, just sit around on the internet until you feel better enough to go out again.

well I've been through a bottle if coke (probably not the best I know), a cartoon of rubicon and have had 5 glasses of water in the last half hour, I want to find out why

Would be worth getting tested for Diabetes to be on the safe side if it continues but normally you would also experience; weightloss and needing to urinate lots!

Could just be a stomach bug, your Nan might have a blood glucose montior you could check yourself on and the result shouldn't really be above 8.0 on the machine if you go that route, if it was diabetes the result would probs be 15.0+

Because you have a cold/illness that is making you dehydrated like half of the rest of the country.

My polite advice: get over it.

But it's not a cold, and I'm not complaining just having to drink a glass of water and constantly feeling thirsty isn't the nicest thing in the world so wanted to try find a solution/cause

then stop drinking so much - it won't make any difference anyway, and you will just cause problems! jeeze this forum is entirely populated with hypochondriacs!

I've felt thirsty since Tuesday. I don't just drink constantly. Just ignore it and drink normally/slightly more than normal.

I would go to the doctor ASAP and get professional medical advice to be on the safe side. I am no medical doctor, but someone I know developed Type I Diabetes with very similar symptoms as described by yourself. It is life threatening. I am not saying that you have it, but I would get it looked at. I hope you are ok and it is just a bug- I went out for a meal tonight and have a really bad stomach now :(

TBH Andy, I would have though that a stomach bug would have at least one symptom related to the digestive tract; no suggestion of that here.

I think the sensible thing to do is to go to the doctor's.

Ryman, It is a bad idea, very bad, to drink a lot more than you are passing out in urine + sweat, so you need to be careful that you are not over-hydrating (or becoming over-anxious).

Go to the Doctors.

Relying on medical advice from people on here is fruitless; if you are concerned you should make an appointment with your GP...

....As usual, haha

I wasnt saying I had a major illness, that was going to last ages, I was just asking what if anything I could do as it was extremely irritating. Either drink every couple of minutes or sit very thirsty
